Tutkimuksessa k\u00e4ytettiin JEPS (Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 Entrance into Primary School) tutkimuksen aineistoa. Tutkimusaineisto koostui 207 nuoresta joista tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 oli 96 ja poikia 111. Oppimismin\u00e4kuvaa mitattiin nuorille suunnatulla kysely- lomakkeella, kerran 7. Luokan kev\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 ja kerran 9. luokan kev\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4. Samoina ajankohtina nuorten koulutaitoja matematiikassa arvioitiin KTLT-testill\u00e4 (R\u00e4s\u00e4nen & Leino, 2005) ja \u00e4idinkielen taitoja kolmella testill\u00e4, jotka ovat osa Sanojen ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4misen, oikeinkirjoituksen ja luetun ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4misen testist\u00f6\u00e4 (Holopainen, Kairaluoma, Nevala, Ahonen, & Aro, 2004). Vanhempien kasvatustyylej\u00e4 mitattiin vanhemmille l\u00e4hetetyill\u00e4 kyselylomakkeilla seitsem\u00e4nnen luokan kev\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4. Tutkimus osoitti, ett\u00e4 \u00e4itien kasvatustyyleill\u00e4 on yhteytt\u00e4 nuoren oppimismin\u00e4kuvaan ja koulumenestykseen. \u00c4idin affektiivisuus seitsem\u00e4nnell\u00e4 luokalla oli positiivisesti ja tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4sti yhtey- dess\u00e4 poikien matematiikan oppimismin\u00e4kuvaan seitsem\u00e4nnell\u00e4 luokalla, sek\u00e4 \u00e4idin behavioraali- nen kontrolli negatiivisesti poikien \u00e4idinkielen oppimismin\u00e4kuvaan yhdeks\u00e4nnell\u00e4 luokalla. \u00c4idin psykologisella kontrollillla oli tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4 negatiivinen yhteys nuorten matematiikan oppimismin\u00e4kuvaan seitsem\u00e4nnell\u00e4 luokalla ja my\u00f6s matematiikan taitoihin sek\u00e4 seitsem\u00e4nnell\u00e4, ett\u00e4 yhdeks\u00e4nnell\u00e4 luokalla. This study also aimed to investigate if there is any association between scholastic identity and academic achievement. This study was carried out as a part of JEPS (Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 En- trance in to Primary School) study. Participants of this study were 207 adolescents, (96 girls and 111 boys) and their parents. Adolescents filled in questionnaires concerning their scholastic identity and school grades once in the seventh grade and once during the ninth grade. Adolescents\u2019 per- formance in math was assessed with KTLT-test (R\u00e4s\u00e4nen & Leino, 2005) and in literacy by three subtests taken from the Test of Word Reading, Spelling and Reading comprehension. (Holopainen, Kairaluoma, Nevala, Ahonen, & Aro, 2004). Parenting styles were measured with inquiries directed to parents, once in seventh grade, and once in ninth grade. The research results showed that mothers parenting styles were connected to youth\u2019s scholastic identity and academic achievement. Espe- cially mother\u2019s affection on seventh grade had statistically significant positive connection to boys\u2019 scholastic identity in math and mother\u2019s behavioural control had statistically significant negative connection to boys\u2019 scholastic identity in mother tongue at ninth-grade. Mother\u2019s psychological control had statistically significant negative connection to youth\u2019s scholastic identity in math in seventh-grade and mathematical achievement both in seventh and ninth grade.
