Selvitimme, muuttuuko vai pysyyk\u00f6 tutkittavien ty\u00f6identiteetti samana 50 ik\u00e4vuodesta 61 ik\u00e4vuoteen siirrytt\u00e4ess\u00e4 tarkastelemalla aineiston pohjalta muodostettuja ty\u00f6identiteettiryhmi\u00e4. Vertailimme my\u00f6s ty\u00f6identiteettiryhmien eroja persoonallisuuden piirteiden ja el\u00e4kkeen j\u00e4lkeisen ty\u00f6skentelyhalukkuuden suhteen. Tutkimus on jatkoa Lapsesta aikuiseksi (LAKU) -pitkitt\u00e4istutkimukselle, jonka osallistujat ovat syntyper\u00e4isi\u00e4 suomalaisia. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 pitkitt\u00e4istutkimuksessa k\u00e4ytimme vuonna 2009 ker\u00e4tyn LAKU-aineiston viimeist\u00e4 osaa sek\u00e4 2020\u20132021 ker\u00e4tty\u00e4 TRAILS-aineistoa, jolloin samat tutkittavat (N = 171) olivat 50- ja 61-vuotiaita. Muodostimme ty\u00f6identiteettiryhm\u00e4t ristiintaulukoinnin avulla ja vertailimme niit\u00e4 toisiinsa persoonallisuuden piirteiden suhteen monen muuttujan varianssianalyysill\u00e4 (MANOVA). Lis\u00e4ksi selvitimme tutkittavien halukkuutta jatkaa ty\u00f6skentely\u00e4 el\u00e4k\u00f6itymisen j\u00e4lkeen hierarkkisella logistisella regressioanalyysilla. Aineistossa korostuivat ty\u00f6identiteettiryhm\u00e4t, joissa tutkittavilla havaittiin joko omaksuttu tai saavutettu ty\u00f6identiteettistatus. Ty\u00f6identiteettiryhm\u00e4t erosivat persoonallisuuden piirteiden osalta avoimuuden, sovinnollisuuden ja tunnollisuuden suhteen. Lis\u00e4ksi saavutettuun ty\u00f6identiteettistatukseen tunnistetut henkil\u00f6t olivat v\u00e4hemm\u00e4n neuroottisia ja halukkaampia jatkamaan el\u00e4k\u00f6itymisen j\u00e4lkeist\u00e4 ty\u00f6skentely\u00e4 verrattuna muihin tutkittaviin. The aim of the study was to examine whether individuals\u2019 work identity changes or remains the same between ages 50 and 61. This was investigated by analysing work identity groups formed based on the data. Additionally, we compared differences between these groups in terms of personality traits and willingness to work after retirement. The study is a continuation of the Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 Longitudinal Study of Personality and Social Development (JYLS) whose participants are native Finns. In this longitudinal study, we used the final part of the JYLS data collected in 2009 and the TRAILS data collected in 2020\u20132021, during which the same participants (N = 171) were respectively 50 and 61 years old. Work identity groups were identified through cross-tabulation, and differences in personality traits across these groups were analysed using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). Participants\u2019 willingness to work after retirement was examined with hierarchical logistic regression analysis. The data highlighted work identity groups in which participants exhibited either a foreclosed or achieved work identity status. These groups differed in the personality traits of openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness. Furthermore, individuals with an achieved work identity were less neurotic and more willing to work after retirement compared to the other participants.
