Itsens\u00e4 johtamisen merkityksen ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4miseksi tutkimuksessa selvitet\u00e4\u00e4n my\u00f6s, muuttuuko itsens\u00e4 johtamisen tarve et\u00e4- ja l\u00e4hity\u00f6p\u00e4ivin\u00e4. Ty\u00f6n imua tarkastellaan ty\u00f6n vaatimusten ja voimavarojen mallin sek\u00e4 vitamiinimallin n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta. Ty\u00f6n voimavaroista tarkastellaan itsen\u00e4isyytt\u00e4 ja p\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksenteon mahdollisuutta. Ty\u00f6n imua ja itsens\u00e4 johtamista tarkastellaan hybridity\u00f6n kontekstissa, joka yleistyi koronapandemian aikana, ja joka on yh\u00e4 sek\u00e4 tulevaisuudessakin yleinen ty\u00f6nteon tapa. Suomalaisten ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6iden ty\u00f6hyvinvointi on laskenut merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4sti viimeisten nelj\u00e4n vuoden aikana. Ty\u00f6n imu on t\u00e4rke\u00e4 ty\u00f6hyvinvoinnin tekij\u00e4, ja ty\u00f6hyvinvointi on yksil\u00f6n lis\u00e4ksi t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 organisaation menestykselle, mink\u00e4 vuoksi ty\u00f6n imua on t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 edist\u00e4\u00e4.Tutkielma on toteutettu laadullisena tutkimuksena teemahaastattelua ja teema-analyysia k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en. Tutkielmaan haastateltiin seitsem\u00e4\u00e4 hybridity\u00f6t\u00e4 tekev\u00e4\u00e4 henkil\u00f6\u00e4, joilla et\u00e4- ja l\u00e4hity\u00f6n suhde eroaa toisistaan. Haastateltavat edustivat kolmea yhteiskunnan sektoria: yksityist\u00e4, julkista ja kolmatta sektoria. Tutkielman tulokset vastasivat pitk\u00e4lti aikaisempien tutkimusten tuloksia. Et\u00e4ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 koettiin l\u00e4hity\u00f6t\u00e4 suurempaa tarvetta itsens\u00e4 johtamiselle ulkoisen johtamisen v\u00e4hentymisen ja itsen\u00e4isyyden lis\u00e4\u00e4ntymisen seurauksena. Lis\u00e4\u00e4ntynyt itsen\u00e4isyys ja itsens\u00e4 johtamisen tarve koettiin hybridity\u00f6n lis\u00e4\u00e4miksi ty\u00f6n vaatimuksiksi, mutta samaan aikaan itsens\u00e4 johtaminen vahvisti sis\u00e4ist\u00e4 motivaatiota ja edisti ty\u00f6n imun kokemista. Eroja haastateltavien v\u00e4lill\u00e4 aiheutti itsens\u00e4 johtamisen tarve ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 yleisesti, eiv\u00e4tk\u00e4 kaikki haastateltavat kokeneet eroa itsens\u00e4 johtamisen tarpeelle et\u00e4- ja l\u00e4hity\u00f6n v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Ty\u00f6n vaatimusten ja voimavarojen kasvun sopivassa suhteessa on aikaisemmin todettu lis\u00e4\u00e4v\u00e4n ty\u00f6n imun kokemuksia.
