T\u00e4t\u00e4 tietoa ei kuitenkaan ole saatavilla heid\u00e4n saamassaan koulutuksessa, vaan sit\u00e4 on hankittava muilla keinoilla. On siis opetusalan tulevaisuutta ajatellen merkityksellist\u00e4 tutkia t\u00f6iden taitojen hankkimista muilla keinoilla. T\u00e4m\u00e4 kandidaatintutkielma tarkastelee suomalaisten englannin aineenopettajaopiskelijoiden n\u00e4kemyksi\u00e4 opetuksellisista sosiaalisen median alustoista. Tutkimus pyrkii ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n, miten opiskelijat n\u00e4kev\u00e4t sosiaalisen median ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6n\u00e4, kuinka hy\u00f6dyllisi\u00e4 opetukselliset sosiaalisen median alustat ovat heille ja miksi n\u00e4it\u00e4 alustoja seurataan.\n\nTutkimuksen aineisto on ker\u00e4tty kyselylomakkeella, joka l\u00e4hetettiin s\u00e4hk\u00f6postitse englannin aineenopettajaopiskelijoille. Kysely pit\u00e4\u00e4 sis\u00e4ll\u00e4\u00e4n kysymyksi\u00e4, jotka on suunniteltu tuottamaan niin m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4llisi\u00e4, kuin laadullisia tuloksia. Kysymykset koskevat n\u00e4kemyksi\u00e4 sosiaalisesta mediasta ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6n\u00e4, opetuksellisten sosiaalisen median alustojen hy\u00f6dyllisyytt\u00e4 sek\u00e4 syit\u00e4 alustojen seuraamiselle. Kyselyn luonteeltaan laadulliset tulokset analysoidaan temaattista analyysi\u00e4 hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4en. \n\nTutkimus ja sen analyysi osoittavat, ett\u00e4 tutkimukseen osallistuneilla opiskelijoilla on ristiriitaisia n\u00e4kemyksi\u00e4 sosiaalisesta mediasta, ja he tunnistavat sen positiiviset sek\u00e4 negatiiviset puolet. Vastaajat arvostavat sosiaalisen median mahdollisuuksia yhteis\u00f6n rakentamiseen ja tiedon jakamiseen, mutta ovat tietoisia my\u00f6s v\u00e4\u00e4rist\u00e4 tiedoista ja muista kielteisist\u00e4 vaikutuksista. Opiskelijat pit\u00e4v\u00e4t opetuksellisia alustoja arvokkaina ja ennen kaikkea hy\u00f6dyllisin\u00e4. Opiskelijat seuraavat opetuksellisia alustoja useista syist\u00e4, joista t\u00e4rkeimpi\u00e4 ovat tuki, inspiraatio ja huumori.\n\nTulosten perusteella sosiaalisen median merkityst\u00e4 tulisi korostaa tulevien opettajien opinpolulla. T\u00e4ten sosiaalisen median alustojen mahdollisuudet tukea ammatillista kehityst\u00e4, edist\u00e4\u00e4 yhteis\u00f6llisyytt\u00e4 ja innostaa tulevia opettajia saadaan valjastettua hy\u00f6tyk\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n. Tuloksia ei voida yleist\u00e4\u00e4 pienen otannan vuoksi (n=9), mutta aihealue kaipaa kipe\u00e4sti lis\u00e4tutkimusta.
