Tarkoituksena oli my\u00f6s tarkastella tasaty\u00f6nn\u00f6n muutoksia tasaty\u00f6nn\u00f6n biomekaniikassa pitk\u00e4n matkan kilpailun aikana. Saatuja tuloksia verrattiin maastohiihdon tasaty\u00f6nn\u00f6n biomekaniikkaan, koska hiihtosuunnistuksen biomekaniikasta ei ole aikaisemmin julkaistu tutkimustietoa. \n\nTutkimus toteutettiin Sodankyl\u00e4ss\u00e4 joulukuussa 2019 j\u00e4rjestettyjen Ensilumenrastien pitk\u00e4n matkan kilpailun yhteydess\u00e4. Tutkimuksen koehenkil\u00f6iksi valittiin lopputulosten perusteella 5 parasta naista ja 12 parasta miest\u00e4. Miehet jaettiin suoritustasojen vertaamista varten nopeampiin (sijat 1.\u20136.) ja hitaampiin (sijat 7.\u201312.). Tutkimuksessa kuvattiin kilpailijoiden tasaty\u00f6nt\u00f6tekniikkaa rastiv\u00e4lill\u00e4, jonka kilpailijat hiihtiv\u00e4t kaksi kertaa pitk\u00e4n matkan kilpailun aikana. Rastiv\u00e4li sijaitsi kapealla uralla loivassa yl\u00e4m\u00e4ess\u00e4. Tutkimus ei h\u00e4irinnyt urheilijoiden kilpailusuoritusta. Kilpailun kokonaisaika sek\u00e4 rastiv\u00e4liaika saatiin j\u00e4rjest\u00e4jien ajanottoj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4st\u00e4 sek\u00e4 urheilijan hiiht\u00e4m\u00e4 matka ja rastiv\u00e4lin pituus gps-seurannasta. Kuvatusta videoaineistosta m\u00e4\u00e4ritettiin alueen nopeus, syklin aikamuuttujat, ty\u00f6nn\u00f6n pituus sek\u00e4 valitut nivelkulmat. \n\nMiehet hiihtiv\u00e4t suuremmalla nopeudella (18-24 %, p < 0.005) ja pidemm\u00e4ll\u00e4 syklill\u00e4 (4.45 \u00b1 0.50 m vs. 3.64 \u00b1 0.23 m, p < 0.005) kuin naiset. Ty\u00f6nt\u00f6vaiheen alussa miehill\u00e4 oli pienemm\u00e4t lonkka- ja polvikulmat kuin naisilla. Nopeampien ja hitaampien miesten v\u00e4lill\u00e4 ei ollut eroja rastiv\u00e4linopeudessa. Nopeampien miesten asento ty\u00f6nt\u00f6vaiheen alussa oli vertikaalisempi kuin hitaampien. Naisilla ei tapahtunut eroja tasaty\u00f6nn\u00f6n biomekaniikassa kilpailun edetess\u00e4. Miehet hiihtiv\u00e4t rastiv\u00e4lin nopeammin toisella kierroksella kuin ensimm\u00e4isell\u00e4 (14.18 \u00b1 0.86 km/h vs. 13.00 \u00b1 1.01 km/h, p < 0.005). Miehill\u00e4 ty\u00f6nt\u00f6vaiheen absoluuttinen ja suhteellinen kesto oli lyhyempi toisella kierroksella hiihdett\u00e4ess\u00e4. Ty\u00f6nt\u00f6- ja palautusvaiheiden kestot olivat yhteydess\u00e4 syklin nopeuteen sek\u00e4 miesten ett\u00e4 naisten osalta. Naisilla koko kilpailun suurempi nopeus oli yhteydess\u00e4 pidemp\u00e4\u00e4n syklin pituuteen, kun taas miesten puolella suurempi syklin nopeus oli yhteydess\u00e4 pidemp\u00e4\u00e4n syklin pituuteen. Miesten puolella suurempi kilpailun nopeus oli yhteydess\u00e4 lyhyemp\u00e4\u00e4n ty\u00f6nt\u00f6vaiheen suhteelliseen ja absoluuttiseen kestoon sek\u00e4 vertikaalisempiin sauva-, lonkka- ja keskivartalokulmaan ty\u00f6nt\u00f6vaiheen alussa. Erot eri ryhmien v\u00e4lill\u00e4 olivat linjassa maastohiihtotutkimuksissa saatujen tulosten kanssa. Miehet eiv\u00e4t k\u00e4ytt\u00e4neet kilpailun aikana positiivista vauhdinjakoa, vaan heid\u00e4n vauhdinjakonsa oli mahdollisesti negatiivinen (eli loppua kohti kiihtyv\u00e4), parabolinen tai vaihteleva.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "The purpose of this study was to investigate biomechanical differences in double poling between sexes and level of performance during a long distance ski orienteering competition. The purpose was also to investigate the differences in double poling biomechanics within long distance competition. Since there are no previous studies on biomechanics of ski orienteering, the results were compared to cross-country skiing studies. \n\nThe study took place in Sodankyl\u00e4 (Finland) in December 2019 during long distance WRE-competitions. 5 best women and 12 best men were selected for the study. Men were divided into faster (1st-6th) and slower (7th-12th) skiers based on final results. Double poling technique was video recorded during a short leg which each athlete skied during the first and second lap of the long distance competition. The leg was located on a narrow track in moderate uphill (4 \u00b0). Video recording did not disturb athletes\u2019 performance. The total racing time and time for the leg were obtained from the race organizers and athlete\u2019s skied distance and length of the leg were obtained from gps-tracking. Double poling velocity , cycle characteristics, cycle distance and selected joint angles were determined from the 2D video recording. \n\nMen skied with higher cycle velocity (18-24 %, p < 0.005) and longer cycle length (4.45 \u00b1 0.50 m vs. 3.64 \u00b1 0.23 m, p < 0.005) than women. Men had smaller hip and knee angle during pole plant than women. There were no differences between faster and slower men in terms of speed for the leg. Faster men had a more vertical body position during pole plant than slower men. Women had no differences in double poling biomechanics between the first and the second lap. Men skied the leg faster during the second lap compared to first lap (14.18 \u00b1 0.86 km/h vs. 13.00 \u00b1 1.01 km/h, p < 0.005). Men had shorter absolute and relative poling times during second lap. Poling and recovery times were connected to cycle velocity for both men and women. Faster competition velocity was connected to longer cycle length for women, but in men longer cycle length was connected to faster cycle velocity. Faster competition velocity was connected to shorter absolute and relative poling time and more vertical pole, hip and trunk angles at pole plant in men. Differences between groups were in line with results from cross-country ski studies.
