Lis\u00e4ksi tutkielmassa perehdyt\u00e4\u00e4n aina kasvavaan s\u00e4hk\u00f6- ja elektroniikkaj\u00e4teongelmaan, sill\u00e4 s\u00e4hk\u00f6- ja elektroniikkaj\u00e4te soveltuu hyvin harvinaisten maametallien vaihtoehtoiseksi l\u00e4hteeksi. Tutkielma tarjoaa yleisk\u00e4sityksen harvinaisten maametallien k\u00e4ytetyimpien talteenotto-menetelmien karakteristisista piirteist\u00e4 ja haasteista. Liuotus, saostus, ioninvaihto sek\u00e4 neste-nesteuutto nostetaan yksityiskohtaisempaan tarkasteluun. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tarkastellaan menetelmien toimivuutta ja mahdollisuuksia harvinaisten maametallien talteenotossa nostamalla viime-aikaisimpia tutkimuksia esimerkeiksi.\n\nTutkimusprojektissa kehitettiin menetelm\u00e4 harvinaisten maametallien talteen ottamiseksi piirilevyj\u00e4ten\u00e4ytteest\u00e4 hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4en ioninvaihtotekniikkaa. Talteenottoa tutkittiin n\u00e4ytteen uuttoliuoksesta kahdella kaupallisella ioninvaihtohartsilla, Puromet MTS9570 sek\u00e4 Amberlyst 15. Uuttoliuoksesta pelkistettiin kupari ja saostettiin perusmetallit h\u00e4iritsem\u00e4st\u00e4 harvinaisten maametallien talteenottoa. N\u00e4yteliuoksesta saatiin REE-adsorptioiksi korkeat 97,17 \u00b1 0,05 % (Puromet MTS9570) sek\u00e4 94,79 \u00b1 0,08 % (Amberlyst 15). Ioninvaihdon kinetiikkaa tutkittiin ja adsorption kannalta riitt\u00e4v\u00e4 kontaktiaika oli noin tunti ja adsorptioalue noudattaa pseudo-toisen asteen kinetiikkamallia kummallakin hartsilla. Hartsien adsorptiomekanismi karakterisoitiin Langmuirin isotermill\u00e4, jolla m\u00e4\u00e4ritettiin hartsin Puromet MTS9570 maksimikapasiteetiksi 69 \u00b1 2 mg g-1 ja 150 \u00b1 3 mg g-1 hartsille Amberlyst 15. Selektiivinen ja per\u00e4kk\u00e4inen eluointi saavutettiin k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 1 M NH4Cl poistamaan suurin osa perusmetalleista v\u00e4h\u00e4isell\u00e4 REE-h\u00e4vikill\u00e4. 3 M (Puromet MTS9570) tai 5 M (Amberlyst 15) H2SO4 k\u00e4ytettiin eluoimaan k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6ss\u00e4 kaikki REE-metallit melko puhtaiksi tuotteiksi. Hartsien uudelleenk\u00e4ytett\u00e4vyytt\u00e4 tutkittiin toistamalla nelj\u00e4 adsorptio-desorptiosykli\u00e4, miss\u00e4 adsorptioissa ei havaittu heikkenemist\u00e4 ja REE-desorption heikkeneminen oli melko v\u00e4h\u00e4ist\u00e4.
