Lis\u00e4ksi tavoitteena oli tutkia psykologisten perustarpeiden, motivaation laadun ja koululiikuntaviihtymisen yhteyksi\u00e4. Tutkimuksen kohdejoukko oli 631 suomalaista yl\u00e4kouluik\u00e4ist\u00e4 oppilasta eri puolelta Suomea. Aineiston ker\u00e4\u00e4minen alkoi marraskuussa 2022 ja loppui tammikuussa 2023.\n\nTutkimus toteutettiin Webropol-kyselylomakkeen avulla, joihin oppilaat vastasivat puhelinta tai tietokonetta k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en oppitunnin alussa. Psykologisten perustarpeiden tyydyttymist\u00e4 ja tukahduttamista tarkasteltiin Adapted Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction and Frustration -scale suomenkielisell\u00e4 mittarilla. Koululiikuntamotivaatiota tarkasteltiin Perceived Locus of Causality in Physical Education (PLOC-R) suomennetun motivaatioregulaatio-mittarin avulla. Koululiikuntaviihtymist\u00e4 tarkasteltiin Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) -mittarin avulla, joka suomennettiin yhdess\u00e4 asiantuntijaryhm\u00e4n kanssa. Tutkimus toteutettiin m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4llisen\u00e4 tutkimuksena ja k\u00e4ytettyjen mittareiden sis\u00e4ist\u00e4 luotettavuutta arvioitiin Cronbachin \u03b1-kertoimen avulla ja PANAS mittarin validiteetti varmistettiin eksploratiivisen faktorianalyysin avulla. Tutkimusdataa analysoitiin riippumattomien otosten t-testill\u00e4, 2-suuntaisella varianssianalyysill\u00e4 sek\u00e4 Pearsonin tulomomenttikorrelaatiokertoimilla.\n\nTulosten mukaan erillisryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4 liikkuvat oppilaat kokivat psykologisten perustarpeiden tyydyttymiset korkeampana kuin sekaryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4 liikkuvat. My\u00f6s sis\u00e4isen motivaation ja positiivisten tunnetilojen keskiarvot olivat korkeampia niiden oppilaiden joukossa, jotka liikkuivat erillisryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4. Koetun p\u00e4tevyyden tukahduttaminen oli suurempaa sekaryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4 liikkuvilla kuin erillisryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4. Tulosten mukaan sukupuoli selitti kuitenkin opetusryhm\u00e4\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n keskiarvojen vaihtelua. Poikien psykologisten perustarpeiden tyydyttymiset, sis\u00e4inen motivaatio ja koululiikuntaviihtyminen liikuntatunneilla oli korkeampaa kuin tytt\u00f6jen ja muun sukupuolisten. Sen sijaan koetun p\u00e4tevyyden ja sosiaalisen yhteenkuuluvuuden tukahduttamiset, amotivaatio, ulkoinen s\u00e4\u00e4tely ja negatiiviset tunnetilat olivat muun sukupuolisilla kaikkein korkeinta ja pojilla kaikkein matalinta. Psykologisten perustarpeiden tyydyttymiset olivat kaikki yhteydess\u00e4 motivaation autonomisiin muotoihin ja positiivisiin tunnetiloihin. Psykologisten perustarpeiden tukahduttamiset olivat yhteydess\u00e4 kontrolloituihin motivaation muotoihin, amotivaatioon sek\u00e4 negatiivisiin tunnetiloihin. Motivaation autonomiset muodot olivat yhteydess\u00e4 positiivisiin tunnetiloihin, kun taas motivaation kontrolloidut muodot olivat yhteydess\u00e4 negatiivisiin tunnetiloihin. \n\nTulokset antavat viitteit\u00e4 siit\u00e4, ett\u00e4 psykologisten perustarpeiden tyydyttymiset sek\u00e4 autonomiset motivaatiomuodot johtavat parempaan viihtymiseen liikuntatunneilla, mitk\u00e4 n\u00e4ytt\u00e4v\u00e4t toteutuvan erillisryhmiss\u00e4 paremmin verrattuna sekaryhmiin. In addition, our aim was to analyse the associations between basic psychological needs, motivation and enjoyment in physical education. Participants of the study were 631 7th-9th grade students from all over Finland. We collected the material for the study between November 2022 to January 2023.\n\nThe study was conducted via Webropol questionnaire in the beginning of a lesson and students answered with their mobile phones or computers. The satisfaction and frustration of basic psychological needs were measured by the Finnish version of Adapted Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction and Frustration scale. PE motivation was measured by Finnish version of Perceived Locus of Causality in Physical Education (PLOC-R) scale. PE enjoyment was measured by Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) scale which was translated to Finnish with the help of an expert group. The study was quantitative. The reliability of different scales was analyzed by using Cronbach\u2019s alpha coefficients. The PANAS scale\u2019s validity was examined by using explorative factor analyses. The data was analyzed using unpaired t-test, two-way analysis of variance and Pearson\u2019s correlation coefficient.\n\nAccording to the results students who participate PE in single-sex groups experience basic psychological needs satisfactions higher compared to students who participate in coed groups. Also, intrinsic motivation and positive affect were higher among students in single-sex groups compared to coed groups. The frustration of need for competence was higher in coed groups. Sex of the students predicted more than grouping when comparing mean differences. Boys\u2019 psychological needs satisfaction, intrinsic motivation and enjoyment in PE were higher than girls and non-binary students. Instead, the need frustration for competence and relatedness, amotivation, external regulation and negative affect were the highest in non-binary students and the weakest among boys. All the satisfactions of basic psychological needs were associated with autonomous forms of motivation and positive affect. All the frustrations of basic psychological needs were associated with amotivation, controlled forms of motivation and negative affect. The autonomous forms of motivation were associated with positive affect and the controlled forms of motivation were associated with negative affect.\n\nThe results indicated that basic psychological need satisfactions and autonomous forms of motivation results in higher enjoyment at PE, which were higher in students who participated in single-sex groups.
