Koehenkil\u00f6in\u00e4 oli 25-30-vuotiaita alle liikuntasuositusten liikkuvia naisia, jotka eiv\u00e4t k\u00e4ytt\u00e4neet hormonaalista ehk\u00e4isy\u00e4. Koehenkil\u00f6t tekiv\u00e4t yhteens\u00e4 kolme kertaa viikossa voima- ja kest\u00e4vyysharjoituksia yhdeks\u00e4n viikon ajan. Voimaharjoittelu oli itsen\u00e4ist\u00e4 kuntosaliharjoittelua ja kest\u00e4vyysharjoittelu ohjattua sis\u00e4py\u00f6r\u00e4ilyharjoittelua. Mittaukset tehtiin tutkimuksen alussa, puolessa v\u00e4liss\u00e4 ja lopussa. Koehenkil\u00f6iden maksimaalinen hapenottokyky kasvoi 8,5 %. Isometrinen maksimivoima kasvoi jalkalihaksien osalta 28,9 % ja yl\u00e4vartalon voimaa mittaava penkkipunnerrus 7,8 %. Voimantuottonopeuksissa ja voimantuottoajoissa ei tapahtunut muutosta jalka- ja yl\u00e4vartalon lihaksissa. Isometrisessa vartalon koukistuksessa maksimivoima kasvoi 27,2 % ja vartalon ojennuksessa 16,1 %. Seerumin kokonaiskolesterolipitoisuus pieneni 7,6 %. HDL- pitoisuus (high density lipoprotein) kasvoi 8,8 %. Veren LDL- (low density lipoprotein), hemoglobiini-, paastoglukoosi- ja triglyseridipitoisuuksissa ei tapahtunut muutoksia. Veren kortisolipitoisuus nousi 22,7 %. Muutosta ei tapahtunut veren testosteroni-, estradioli- ja sukupuolihormoneja sitovan globuliinin (SHBG) pitoisuuksissa. Koehenkil\u00f6iden lihasmassa kasvoi 0,8 %. Rasvamassassa, rasvaprosentissa ja painossa ei tapahtunut muutosta. Koehenkil\u00f6iden leposykkeess\u00e4 ja sykevariaatioissa ei tapahtunut muutosta lukuun ottamatta seisten mitattua HFP:a (HFP = high frequency power), joka laski 48,2 %. Tuloksen osoittavat, ett\u00e4 yhdeks\u00e4n viikon ajan kolme kertaa viikossa tapahtuva harjoittelu n\u00e4ytt\u00e4si olevan riitt\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4 fyysisen suorituskyvyn parantumisen ja tiettyjen terveyden kannalta edullisten muutosten saavuttamiseksi. Subjects were 25-30-year-old females who exercise less than\r\nrecommendations indicate and who don\u2019t use hormonal birth control. Subjects trained\r\nin total three times a week strength and endurance during nine weeks. Independent\r\nstrength training was performed at the gym and instructed endurance training by\r\nindoor cycling. Experimental measurements were assessed before, in the middle and\r\nafter the training period. The 9-week training period led to 8.5 % increase in maximal\r\noxygen uptake. Isometric maximal strength increased 28.9 % in lower limbs and 7.8\r\n% in upper body. There were no changes in time and rate of force development in\r\nlower and upper body. Maximal isometric trunk flexion increased 27.2 % and\r\nmaximal isometric trunk extension 16.1 %. Total cholesterol was lowered 7.6 % and\r\nHDL cholesterol (HDL = high density lipoprotein) was increased 8.8 %. LDL\r\ncholesterol (LDL = low density lipoprotein), hemoglobin, fasting plasma glucose and\r\ntriglycerin remained unchanged. Plasma cortisol increased 22.7 %. There were no\r\nchanges in plasma testosterone, estradiol or sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG).\r\nThe skeletal muscle mass increased 0.8 %, but there were no changes in body fat\r\nmass, fat percentage or weight of subjects. Resting heart rate and heart rate variations\r\nremained unchanged with the exception of standing measured HFP, which decreased\r\n48.2 %. The results showed that 9-week strength and endurance training period of\r\nthree times a week seems to be sufficient to gain physical performance and certain\r\nbenefits for health.
