Fysioterapeuttiopiskelijoiden k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n harjoittelua ohjaavat fysioterapeutit toteuttavat opiskelijoiden osaamisen arviointia yhteisty\u00f6ss\u00e4 ammattikorkeakoulun opettajien kanssa. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli laajentaa ymm\u00e4rryst\u00e4 fysioterapeuttiopiskelijoiden k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n harjoittelujaksoja ohjaavien fysioterapeuttien laadullisesti erilaisista k\u00e4sityksist\u00e4 opiskelija-arvioinnista sek\u00e4 k\u00e4sitysten v\u00e4lisist\u00e4 yhteyksist\u00e4.\n\nTutkimus toteutettiin laadullisena haastattelututkimuksena, fenomenografista tutkimusotetta hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4en. Tutkimukseen osallistui yhteens\u00e4 seitsem\u00e4n fysioterapeuttia, jotka olivat ohjanneet ty\u00f6ss\u00e4\u00e4n useita eri opintovaiheissa olevien fysioterapeuttiopiskelijoiden k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n harjoittelujaksoja. Haastatteluaineisto ker\u00e4ttiin et\u00e4yhteyksin (Zoom) toteutetuin yksil\u00f6haastatteluin kes\u00e4-hein\u00e4kuussa 2021. Haastattelut litteroitiin ja aineisto analysoitiin aineistol\u00e4ht\u00f6isesti fenomenografisella analyysimenetelm\u00e4ll\u00e4. Fenomenografisen tutkimuksen tulokset edustavat tutkimusjoukon kollektiivista ymm\u00e4rryst\u00e4 tutkittavasta ilmi\u00f6st\u00e4 tiettyn\u00e4 aikana ja tietyss\u00e4 kontekstissa.\n\nOhjaavien fysioterapeuttien k\u00e4sitykset opiskelija-arvioinnista kuvautuivat kolmena hierarkkisesti laajenevana kuvauskategoriana: I) hallinnollinen paha, II) kompetenssin varmistaminen ja III) tulevaisuusorientoitunut arviointi. Kuvauskategorioiden hierarkkisuus ilmeni tietoisuuden avartumista kuvaavien ja kategoriat l\u00e4pileikkaavien teemojen v\u00e4lityksell\u00e4, jotka olivat: 1) arvioinnin kohteet, 2) arvioinnin osalliset, 3) arvioinnin k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n toteutus, 4) arvioinnin l\u00e4ht\u00f6kohdat ja 5) arvioinnin merkityksellisyys. Kuvauskategorioiden v\u00e4liset kriittiset erot kuvaavat keskeisi\u00e4 tekij\u00f6it\u00e4 tietoisuuden avartumisessa, siirrytt\u00e4ess\u00e4 kategoriasta toiseen. Tunnistetut kriittiset erot kategorioiden yksi ja kaksi v\u00e4lill\u00e4 olivat \u201darviointiin liittyv\u00e4n struktuurin v\u00e4hentyminen\u201d ja \u201darviointiyhteisty\u00f6n lis\u00e4\u00e4ntyminen\u201d. Toisen ja kolmannen kuvauskategorian v\u00e4liset erot ilmeniv\u00e4t \u201djatkuvan oppimisen tukemisena\u201d, \u201dopiskelijan ja ohjaajan vertaisuutena\u201d sek\u00e4 \u201dedelleen lis\u00e4\u00e4ntyv\u00e4 arviointiyhteisty\u00f6n\u00e4 eri osallisten v\u00e4lill\u00e4\u201d. \n\nTutkimuksen tulokset laajentavat ymm\u00e4rryst\u00e4 fysioterapeuttiopiskelijoiden k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n harjoitteluja ohjaavien fysioterapeuttien laadullisesti erilaisista tavoista k\u00e4sitt\u00e4\u00e4 opiskelija-arviointi osana k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n harjoittelujaksoja. Tutkimuksen tulokset ovat samansuuntaisia aiempien tutkimusten tulosten kanssa, mutta kuvaavat arviointik\u00e4sityksi\u00e4 aiempaa laaja-alaisemmin. Clinical training typically happens in real life workplaces and acting as a clinical educator has been seen as an essential part of the health care professional\u2019s work. Physiotherapists as a clinical educators\u2019 asses the physiotherapy students\u2019 competence in clinical training together with a teacher from the university of applied sciences. The aim of this study was to increase the knowledge of physiotherapists qualitatively different conceptions of the student assessment and the connections between the conceptions.\n\nThe study was conducted as a qualitative interview study utilizing a phenomenographic methodology. The study involved seven physiotherapists, who had supervised clinical training of several physiotherapy students. The interview data were collected with individual remote (Zoom) interviews in June and July 2021. The interviews were transcribed verbatim, and the data were analyzed inductively based on phenomenographic methodology. The results of the study represent the participants\u2019 collective conceptions of the research phenomenon at a certain time and context.\n\nSupervising physiotherapists\u2019 conceptions of student assessment were described as three hierarchically expanding categories of description, named as: I) administrative evil II) ensuring physiotherapy students professional competence and III) future-oriented assessment. The descriptive categories were arrived at based on five themes of expanding awareness named as: 1) objects of assessment, 2) participants of assessment, 3) practical implementation of assessment 4), basis of assessment and 5) importance of assessment. Critical differences between the descriptive categories represent central of expanding awareness when moving from one category to another. The critical differences between the first and the second category were: \u201creduction of the structure related to the assessment\u201d and \u201cincrease of collaboration related to assessment\u201d. The critical aspects between the second and the third categories were: \u201csupporting lifelong learning\u201d, \u201cstudent\u2019s and physiotherapist\u2019s equality\u201d and \u201cincreasing assessment collaboration between different participants\u201d. \n\nThe results of the study increase the understanding of physiotherapists\u2019 qualitatively different conceptions of the student assessment in the context of Finnish higher education and practice training. The results of the study resonate with previous studies but illuminate the conceptions of assessment more extensively. The results can be utilized in the context of Finnish higher education, in developing of practice education and the training of clinical educators.
