DNA-nanotechnology utilizes the power of active self-assembly to influence events and reactions happening at the nanoscale. Using DNA-molecules, it is possible to create drug transporting vehicles that prevent the unwanted properties of drugs,\nincrease the amount of drugs that reach the target tissue and reduce the amount of off-target effects. DNA-based transporters have demonstrated some superior properties compared to the existing drug carrier molecules. The most significant challenges and problems of the field are analyzed and discussed in this thesis.
