Turvallisuus jaettiin fyysiseen-, psyykkiseen- ja\nsosiaaliseen turvallisuuteen. Tarkoituksena oli samalla vertailla sukupuolten kokemuksia\nturvallisuuden osa-alueista opetusryhmien sis\u00e4ll\u00e4 ja opetusryhmien v\u00e4lill\u00e4.\nTutkimuksen kohdejoukkona olivat Keski-Suomen alueen kolmen eri koulun 9. -luokkalaiset\noppilaat. Tutkimus toteutettiin kyselytutkimuksena ja siihen osallistui 133 oppilasta, joista 85 oli\npoikia, 41 tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 ja 7 oppilasta ilmoitti sukupuolekseen muu. Sukupuolen lis\u00e4ksi taustatietona\noppilailta kysyttiin t\u00e4m\u00e4nhetkinen liikuntaryhm\u00e4, joihin vaihtoehdot olivat sekaryhm\u00e4, tytt\u00f6jen\nerillisryhm\u00e4 tai poikien erillisryhm\u00e4. Sekaryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4 poikia oli 35, tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 16 ja muun sukupuolisia 3.\nTytt\u00f6jen erillisryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4 tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 oli 25 ja muun sukupuolisia 2 ja poikien erillisryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4 poikia oli\n50 ja muun sukupuolisia 2. Aineistonkeruu toteutettiin helmi- ja maaliskuun 2022 aikana.\nTutkimuslomake sis\u00e4lsi taustatietokysymysten lis\u00e4ksi 21 liikuntatuntien turvallisuuteen liittyv\u00e4\u00e4\nv\u00e4itt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4 ja vastausvaihtoehtona k\u00e4ytettiin viisiportaista Likert-asteikkoa. Tulosten kuvaamiseen\nk\u00e4ytettiin keskiarvoja, mediaaneja ja 95 % luottamusv\u00e4lej\u00e4. Tilastollinen analyysi suoritettiin\nKruskal Wallisin- ja Mann U Whitneyn testeill\u00e4. Summamuuttujien luotettavuutta tutkittiin\nCronbachin alfa-kertoimella.\nTulostemme mukaan mill\u00e4\u00e4n turvallisuuden osa-alueella ei ollut tilastollista yhteytt\u00e4 siihen\nliikuntaryhm\u00e4\u00e4n, miss\u00e4 oppilas vastaamishetkell\u00e4 liikkuu. Kuitenkin sekaryhmiss\u00e4 oppilaiden\nkokema fyysinen turvallisuus n\u00e4ytt\u00e4isi eroavan tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4sti oppilaiden v\u00e4lill\u00e4 siten,\nett\u00e4 pojilla se on korkeampi kuin tyt\u00f6ill\u00e4. Tyt\u00f6ill\u00e4 fyysinen turvallisuus on puolestaan tilastollisesti\nalhaisempi sekaryhmiss\u00e4 kuin erillisryhmiss\u00e4. Tilastolliset erot psyykkisess\u00e4 ja sosiaalisessa\nturvallisuudessa painottuivat siten, ett\u00e4 pojat kokivat n\u00e4m\u00e4 turvallisuuden osa-alueet yleisesti\nkorkeammaksi kuin tyt\u00f6t ja muun sukupuoliset. Lis\u00e4ksi pojat kokivat psyykkisen turvallisuutensa\nkorkeammaksi sekaryhmiss\u00e4 kuin tyt\u00f6t.\nTuloksemme antavat viitteit\u00e4 siit\u00e4, ett\u00e4 oppilaiden kokema fyysinen turvallisuus puoltaa enemm\u00e4n\nerillisryhmi\u00e4. Psyykkisen ja sosiaalisen turvallisuuden kannalta ei pystyt\u00e4 suoraan sanomaan,\npuoltavatko ne enemm\u00e4n seka- vai erillisryhmi\u00e4, sill\u00e4 tuloksissamme ilmenneet erot eiv\u00e4t\npainottuneet opetusryhmien v\u00e4lille vaan ainoastaan sukupuolten v\u00e4lille. Tulostemme perusteella\nvoidaan kuitenkin todeta, ett\u00e4 sukupuolten v\u00e4liset erot turvallisuuden kokemuksissa antavat yleisesti\nviitteit\u00e4 siit\u00e4, ett\u00e4 pojat kokevat psyykkisen ja sosiaalisen turvallisuutensa korkeammalle kuin tyt\u00f6t\nja muun sukupuoliset.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "The purpose of this study was to find out the views of 9th graders about safety and to look at\nwhether teaching group or gender has a connection to a student\u2019s experience of safety aspects in\nphysical education. Safety was divided into physical, mental and social safety. The aim of this study\nwas also to compare gender experiences of safety aspects within and between teaching groups.\nThe target groups of the study were 9th graders from three different schools in Central Finland. The\nsurvey was conducted as a questionnaire survey and involved 133 students, of whom 85 were boys,\n41 were girls, and 7 students reported their gender as other gender. In addition to gender, as\nbackground information, students were asked about the current teaching group, for which the\noptions were a co-educational group, a single-sex group for girls or a single-sex group for boys.\nThere were 35 boys, 16 girls and 3 other gender students in the co-educational group. There were\n25 girls and 2 other gender students in the single-sex group of girls and there were 50 boys and 2\nother gender students in the single-sex group of boys. Data collection was conducted during\nFebruary and March of 2022. In addition to the background information questions, the research\nform contained 21 statements related to the safety of physical education classes. Five-point Likert\nscale was used as the answer option. Means, medians, and 95% confidence intervals were used to\ndescribe the results. Statistical analysis was performed using the Kruskal Wallis and Mann U\nWhitney tests. The reliability of the sum variables was examined with the Cronbach\u2019s alpha\ncoefficient.\nAccording to our results, there was no statistical significancy between any aspect of safety and the\nteaching group in which the student is exercising at the time of responding. However, in co-\neducational groups, the physical safety experienced by students would appear to differ statistically\nbetween students, with boys having a higher rate than girls did. In girls on the other hand, physical\nsafety is statistically lower in co-educational groups than in single-sex groups. Statistical\ndifferences in mental and social safety were emphasized, with boys generally perceiving these\naspects of safety to be higher than girls and other gender students. In addition, boys felt that their\nmental safety was higher in co-educational groups than girls.\nOur results suggested that the physical safety that is experienced by students is more in favor of\nsingle-sex groups. It is not possible to say directly which group, co-educational or single-sex group,\nis better in terms of mental and social safety, as our study suggested that there was a statistical\nsignificancy only between genders, not between the teaching groups.
