Suullinen tuottaminen on kuitenkin hyvin olennainen osa kielitaitoa, ja t\u00e4m\u00e4n taidon kehitt\u00e4miseksi sit\u00e4 tulisi harjoitella ahdistuksesta huolimatta. Kouluymp\u00e4rist\u00f6 tarjoaa t\u00e4lle harjoittelulle suhteellisen turvalliset puitteet, ja opettajan rooli oppijoiden kieliahdistuksen lievitt\u00e4misess\u00e4 onkin merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4. Opettajien tulisi kannustaa oppijoita suullisen kielitaidon harjoittamiseen luokkahuoneen turvassa, jotta n\u00e4m\u00e4 uskaltaisivat hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 taitojaan my\u00f6s sen ulkopuolella.\n\nT\u00e4ll\u00e4 tutkimuksella pyrittiin selvitt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n kahta asiaa aiheeseen liittyen. Ensinn\u00e4kin haluttiin tiet\u00e4\u00e4, kuinka merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4n\u00e4 vaikuttajana suomalaiset englanninopettajat n\u00e4kiv\u00e4t oppijoiden mahdollisen ahdistuksen suunnitellessaan suullisen kielitaidon opetusta. Toisena kiinnostuksen kohteena olivat opettajien erilaiset tavat reagoida oppijoiden ahdistukseen suullisessa tuottamisessa ja n\u00e4in tukea heid\u00e4n kielellist\u00e4 itsetuntoaan. Tutkimuksen p\u00e4\u00e4asiallinen aineistonkeruumenetelm\u00e4 oli opettajille suunnattu verkkokysely, mutta saatuja tuloksia t\u00e4ydennettiin my\u00f6s yhdell\u00e4 puolistrukturoidulla haastattelulla. Kysymyksill\u00e4 kartoitettiin opettajien kokemuksia oppijoiden ahdistuksesta suullisissa harjoituksissa ja heid\u00e4n tapojaan vastata n\u00e4ist\u00e4 tunteista aiheutuviin haasteisiin.\n\nTutkimuksessa selvisi, ett\u00e4 opetuksen mieluisuus oppilaille on yksi opettajien prioriteeteista suullisen kielitaidon opetuksen suunnittelussa. T\u00e4m\u00e4n lis\u00e4ksi opettajat raportoivat kiinnitt\u00e4v\u00e4ns\u00e4 huomiota opetuksen monipuolisuuteen, tehokkuuteen ja toteutuksen helppouteen. Tulosten avulla pystyttiin my\u00f6s luomaan nelj\u00e4 kategoriaa, jotka kattoivat opettajien tavat vastata suullisen kieliahdistuksen aiheuttamiin haasteisiin: rohkaisevan ilmapiiriin tukeminen, ongelmasta keskusteleminen, opetuksen sopeuttaminen ja rutiinin luominen. N\u00e4m\u00e4 tulokset tukevat aikaisempaa tutkimusta.
