Tutkimuksessa m\u00e4\u00e4ritell\u00e4\u00e4n nanoteknologian k\u00e4site ja perehdyt\u00e4\u00e4n tietoj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4tieteeseen tieteenalana, jotta n\u00e4iden yhdist\u00e4minen on luontevaa. Tutkimus toteutetaan kirjallisuuskatsauksena tutkien erityisesti tietoj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4tieteen korkeatasoisimpia julkaisuja. Aiheen tutkiminen on t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4, sill\u00e4 nanoteknologialta odotetaan paljon uutena teknologiana, muttei sit\u00e4 ole juurikaan tutkittu tietoj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4tieteess\u00e4. Kirjallisuuskatsauksessa ilmeni nanoteknologiaa koskevien julkaisujen pieni m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 tietoj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4tieteess\u00e4. Julkaisuista kuitenkin pystyttiin ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n, ett\u00e4 tietoj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4tieteess\u00e4 kaivataan lis\u00e4\u00e4 teorioita uusista teknologioista\nkuten nanoteknologiasta. Nanoteknologia on osaltaan ollut luomassa informaatio\u00e4hky\u00e4, joka vaivaa \nnyky\u00e4\u00e4n l\u00e4hes kaikkia sosiaalisia luokkia. Erilaiset elektroniikkalaitteet ovat pienentyneet ja muuttuneet tehokkaammiksi nanoteknologian vuoksi. Nanotechnology is a new technology that is being exploited in many different fields and is expected to enable major advances in science. The research defines the concept of nanotechnology and introduces \ninformation systems science as a discipline so that it is natural to combine these two. The research \nis carried out in the form of a literature review, examining in particular the highest quality publications in the field of Information Systems Science. Research on this topic is important because \nmuch is expected of nanotechnology as a new technology, but little research has been done in Information Systems Science. Research shows that there is only a small number of publications on \nnanotechnology in the field. However, it was clear from the publications that more theories about \nnew technologies such as nanotechnology are needed in the field. Nanotechnology has contributed \nto the creation of an information overload that affects almost all social classes today. Various electronic devices have shrunk and become more efficient due to nanotechnology. The study also \nshows that nanotechnology is strongly part of Internet of Everything and Big Data. Nanotechnology is seen as a very multidisciplinary and it can be applied to a wide range of problems. Nanotechnology can be said to be invisible to its normal users, which raises questions about consumer \nrights. Nanotechnology is also considered to have significant social implications.
