E-oppikirjojen tapauksessa pedagoginen lis\u00e4arvo tarkoittaisi esimerkiksi kirjaan sis\u00e4ltyvi\u00e4 videoita, mik\u00e4 mahdollistaa uudenlaisen tavan oppia. Aikaisempien tutkimustulosten mukaan opiskelijat suosivat perinteisen painetun kirjan k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4 e-oppikirjan sijaan. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli tutkia lukion biologian e-oppikirjojen sis\u00e4lt\u00f6\u00e4 ja k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4. Tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin e-oppikirjoja kokonaisuudessaan ja erityisesti lukion \u201dIhmisen biologia\u201d (BI4) -kurssin verenkiertoelimist\u00f6\u00f6n liittyvi\u00e4 sis\u00e4lt\u00f6j\u00e4. Tutkimus toteutettiin kyselyll\u00e4, haastattelulla ja oppikirja-analyysill\u00e4. Tuloksia analysoitiin kvantitatiivisin ja kvalitatiivisin menetelmin. Tutkimukseen osallistui 66 lukio-opiskelijaa ja kaksi opettajaa. Opiskelijat vastasivat kyselyyn ja opettajia haastateltiin. Tulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 lukion biologian e-oppikirjat olivat helppok\u00e4ytt\u00f6isi\u00e4, ja niiden kuvat ja videot olivat laadukkaita. Toisaalta e-oppikirja-alustan avulla ei tapahtunut merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4sti vuorovaikutusta opiskelijoiden ja opettajan v\u00e4lill\u00e4, eiv\u00e4tk\u00e4 e-oppikirjat erityisesti innostaneet opiskelijoita opiskelemaan. E-oppikirjan muokattavuus, ty\u00f6kalut (kuten hakutoiminto) ja k\u00e4tevyys toivat pedagogista edistyst\u00e4 verrattuna painettuihin kirjoihin. E-oppikirjoja oli kuitenkin ep\u00e4miellytt\u00e4v\u00e4 lukea, ja ne eiv\u00e4t aina toimineet vastaajien haluamalla tavalla. In the case of e-textbooks, additional pedagogical value would for instance mean videos included in the book which offers a new way of learning. According to previous research, students prefer to use traditional printed books to e-textbooks. This study investigated the contents, practices, and current use of biology e-textbooks in Finnish high school education. The study examined e-textbooks in their entirety and especially the contents related to the circulatory system, which is presented in the course \u201cHuman biology\u201d (BI4) in Finnish high schools. This study was conducted with an electronic questionnaire, an interview, and a textbook analysis. The results were analysed by quantitative and qualitative methods. This study involved 66 high school students and two teachers. Students responded to the questionnaire and teachers were interviewed. The results showed that Finnish high school biology e-textbooks were easy to use and they included high quality images and videos. On the other hand, there was no significant interaction between fellow students and the teacher with the help of the e-textbook platform, and e-textbooks did not particularly inspire students to learn. The customizability of e-textbooks, as well as tools (such as search function) and convenience brought pedagogical advantage compared to printed books. However, e-textbooks were uncomfortable to read and did not always work the way respondents wanted.
