Näiden jälkeen tutkielmassa tarkastellaan pelillistämisen hyötyjä, haittoja sekä kritiikkiä niin yleisellä tasolla kuin ohjelmistotuotannon kontekstissa. The subject of this study is gamification in the context of software engineering. The concept of gamification is analysed and synthesised in this study. Gamification is also viewed from the perspective of software engineering and a framework used for gamifying software engineering (García ym. 2017) and a method for gamifying a software (Morschheuser ym. 2018) is used as examples. After these examples, the study takes a look at benefits, disadvantages and criticism of gamification on a general level and in the context of software engineering.
