Tutkimusteht\u00e4v\u00e4n kautta pohdin sit\u00e4, miksi feminismist\u00e4 puhuminen koetaan vaikeaksi. Tutkimuksen konteksti on koulumaailmassa, jossa tulevien aineenopettajien teht\u00e4v\u00e4n\u00e4 on peruskoulunopetussuunnitelman (2014) mukaan edist\u00e4\u00e4 sukupuolten tasa-arvoa. \nTutkimuksen aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopiston aineenopettajaopiskelijoilta kirjallisen oppimisteht\u00e4v\u00e4n muodossa. Kyseess\u00e4 on laadullinen tapaustutkimus, jossa on diskursiivisen tutkimuksen piirteit\u00e4. Aineiston analysointi toteutettiin aineistol\u00e4ht\u00f6isell\u00e4 sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysilla ja diskursiivisella tutkimusotteella.\nTutkimustulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 aineenopettajaopiskelijoiden kirjoituksissa eli monenlaisia merkityksi\u00e4 erityisesti sukupuolten tasa-arvosta. Merkitykset erosivat toisistaan muun muassa sen suhteen, n\u00e4htiink\u00f6 sukupuolten tasa-arvo jo toteutuneena vai ei. My\u00f6s feminismille annetut merkitykset vaihtelivat: feminismi n\u00e4htiin niin tasa-arvon edist\u00e4misen v\u00e4lineen\u00e4 kuin esteen\u00e4 tasa-arvoty\u00f6lle. Kaiken kaikkiaan kirjoitukset feminismist\u00e4 ja sukupuolten tasa-arvosta keskittyiv\u00e4t miesten ja naisten tasa-arvosta puhumiseen ja opiskelijat toivoivat, ett\u00e4 sukupuolten tasa-arvosta puhuminen voitaisiin laajentaa vain tasa-arvosta tai yhdenvertaisuudesta puhumiseen. \nTutkimuksen johtop\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksin\u00e4 voidaan esitt\u00e4\u00e4, miten tasa-arvok\u00e4sitteest\u00e4 el\u00e4\u00e4 monenlaisia uskomuksia ja aihe on monelle melko vieras. T\u00e4st\u00e4 seuraa se, ett\u00e4 tasa-arvoasioista puhutaan yksinkertaistamisen ja mahdollisimman ymp\u00e4ripy\u00f6rein k\u00e4sittein \u2013 jokaisen on oltava tasa-arvosta puhuttaessa keski\u00f6ss\u00e4. T\u00e4m\u00e4 voi kuitenkin johtaa siihen, ett\u00e4 tasa-arvosta puhuttaessa luodaan melko yksipuolista kuvaa, koska olemassa olevista eroista ei osata tai haluta puhua.
