Tarkoituksena oli my\u00f6s selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, onko lasten temperamentin ja motoristen perustaitojen v\u00e4lill\u00e4 mahdollisesti yhteytt\u00e4.\n\nTutkimuksen aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin vuosina 2015\u20132016 osana Taitavat Tenavat -hanketta. Tutkimukseen osallistui p\u00e4\u00e4asiassa 3\u20137-vuotiaita p\u00e4iv\u00e4kotilapsia (N=1238) 24:lt\u00e4 paikkakunnalta 37:st\u00e4 eri p\u00e4iv\u00e4kodista ymp\u00e4ri Suomea. Tutkimukseen osallistuneet p\u00e4iv\u00e4kodit valittiin Lastentarhaopettajaliiton rekisterist\u00e4 satunnaistetulla ryv\u00e4sotannalla 2600 p\u00e4iv\u00e4kodin joukosta. Aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin tutkimalla temperamenttia vanhempien lapsistaan t\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 kyselylomakkeella sek\u00e4 lasten suorittamilla motoristen perustaitojen testeill\u00e4. Temperamentin tutkimiseen k\u00e4ytettiin Colorado Childhood Temperament -kyselylomaketta (CCTI) (Rowe & Plomin 1977), liikkumis- ja v\u00e4lineenk\u00e4sittelytaitojen tutkimiseen Test of Gross Motor Development 3 -testist\u00f6\u00e4 (TGMD-3) (Ulrich 2013) ja tasapainotaitojen tutkimiseen K\u00f6perkoordinationtest f\u00fcr Kinder -testist\u00f6\u00e4 (KTK) (Kiphard ja Shilling 2007). Aineiston kuvailuun k\u00e4ytettiin keskiarvoja ja keskihajontoja. Sukupuolen ja i\u00e4n yhteytt\u00e4 temperamenttiin ja motorisiin taitoihin tarkasteltiin riippumattomien otosten t-testill\u00e4 ja temperamenttipiirteiden ja motoristen perustaitojen v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 yhteyksi\u00e4 analysoitiin Pearsonin korrelaatiokertoimen avulla.\n\nTulosten mukaan pojat olivat temperamentiltaan tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 aktiivisempia, kun taas tyt\u00f6t s\u00e4ilyttiv\u00e4t tarkkaavaisuutensa poikia paremmin. Vanhemmat lapset olivat sosiaalisempia ja s\u00e4ilyttiv\u00e4t tarkkaavaisuutensa nuorempia paremmin, kun taas nuoremmat lapset olivat emotionaalisempia ja aktiivisempia kuin vanhemmat lapset. Motoristen perustaitojen osalta tulokset osoittivat tytt\u00f6jen olevan poikia parempia liikkumistaidoissa, kun taas pojat olivat tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 parempia v\u00e4lineenk\u00e4sittelytaidoissa. Vanhemmat lapset olivat nuorempia parempia kaikilla motoristen perustaitojen osa-alueilla. Aktiivisuus ja tarkkaavaisuuden s\u00e4ilytt\u00e4minen olivat positiivisesti yhteydess\u00e4 liikkumis-, v\u00e4lineenk\u00e4sittely- ja tasapainotaitoihin. Positiivinen yhteys oli my\u00f6s sosiaalisuuden sek\u00e4 liikkumis- ja v\u00e4lineenk\u00e4sittelytaitojen v\u00e4lill\u00e4 ja rauhoittumisen sek\u00e4 v\u00e4lineenk\u00e4sittely- ja tasapainotaitojen v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Emotionaalisuus oli negatiivisesti yhteydess\u00e4 v\u00e4lineenk\u00e4sittely- sek\u00e4 tasapainotaitoihin ja ruokaan reagoiminen negatiivisesti yhteydess\u00e4 v\u00e4lineenk\u00e4sittelytaitoihin sek\u00e4 TGMD-3 kokonaispisteisiin. Tutkimuksen perusteella temperamentin voidaan siis todeta olevan yhteydess\u00e4 motorisiin perustaitoihin. T\u00e4m\u00e4 tieto voi olla hy\u00f6dyllinen lasten liikkumisen tutkimisen ja suunnittelun kannalta.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "The aim of this study was to examine temperament and the level of fundamental movement skills of Finnish 3\u20137-year-old kindergarteners who participated in Skilled Kids -study. The aim was also to examine if there is an association between children\u2019s temperament and fundamental movement skills.\n\nData was collected in years 2015\u20132016 as a part of Skilled Kids -project. The participants of this study were mainly 3\u20137-year-old kindergarteners (N=1238) from 24 different cities and 37 different kindergartens around Finland. Kindergartens were selected from 2600 kindergartens in the registry of Kindergarten Teachers Union in Finland by using random cluster sampling. Data was collected by studying temperament with inventory that parents filled conserning their children. Fundamental movement skills were examined by using two different test batteries for children. Temperament was examined by using Colorado Childhood Temperament Inventory (CCTI) (Rowe & Plomin 1977), locomotor and object control skills by using Test of Gross Motor Development Third Edition (TGMD-3) (Ulrich 2013) and balancing skills by using K\u00f6perkoordinationtest f\u00fcr Kinder (KTK) (Kiphard ja Shilling 2007). Means and standard deviations were used to describe the data. Association on gender and age with temperament and fundamental movement skills were tested by independent samples t-test and associations between temperament and fundamental movement skills were analysed by using Pearson\u2019s correlations.\n\nResults showed that by temperament, boys were more active than girls and girls persisted attention better than boys. Older children were more social and persisted attention better than younger children while younger children were more emotional and active than older children. According to fundamental movement skills, boys were better than girls in object control skills and girls were better than boys in locomotor skills. Older children were better in every areas of fundamental movement skills than younger children. Activity and attention-span-persistence had positive association to locomotor, object control and balance skills. Positive association was also found between sociality and locomotor skills as well as object control skills and also between soothability and object control skills as well as balance skills. Emotionality had negative association to object control and balance skills. Reaction to food had negative association to object control skills and TGMD-3 overall score. According to this study, it can be noted that there is an association between temperament and fundamental movement skills.
