Tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 miten ruokavalion laatu sek\u00e4 kasvisten ja kasvirasvalevitteen k\u00e4ytt\u00f6 muuttuvat vanhemmilla lapsen saamisen my\u00f6t\u00e4. Lis\u00e4ksi selvitettiin miten vanhempien koulutustaso, perheen tulot sek\u00e4 vanhemman ik\u00e4, sukupuoli ja painoindeksi ovat yhteydess\u00e4 ruokavalion laatuun sek\u00e4 kasvisten ja kasvirasvalevitteen k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n.\n\nTutkimuksessa on k\u00e4ytetty Turun yliopiston Hyv\u00e4n kasvun avaimet- seurantatutkimuksen aineistoa. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin aineistosta taustatietoja raskausajalta sek\u00e4 tietoa vanhempien ruokailutottumuksista raskausajalla ja lapsen ollessa kaksi- ja viisivuotias. Analyyseihin otettiin mukaan ensimm\u00e4ist\u00e4 lasta odottavat vanhemmat, jotka odottivat yht\u00e4 lasta (n=1780). Analyysimenetelmin\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin ristiintaulukointia, bin\u00e4\u00e4rist\u00e4 logistista regressioanalyysi\u00e4 ja McNemarin testi\u00e4.\n\nRuokavalion laatu heikkeni matalamman koulutustason omaavilla \u00e4ideill\u00e4 raskausajalta siihen menness\u00e4, kun lapsi oli kahden vuoden ik\u00e4inen. Korkeammin koulutetuilla \u00e4ideill\u00e4 ruokavalion laatu pysyi yht\u00e4 hyv\u00e4n\u00e4 kuin raskausaikana. Laatu pysyi samalla tasolla my\u00f6s \u00e4ideill\u00e4, jotka olivat uudelleen raskaana lapsen ollessa kaksivuotias, mutta heikkeni niill\u00e4, jotka eiv\u00e4t olleet uudelleen raskaana. P\u00e4ivitt\u00e4inen kasvisten k\u00e4ytt\u00f6 oli \u00e4ideill\u00e4 raskausaikana yht\u00e4 yleist\u00e4 kuin lapsen ollessa kaksivuotias, mutta yleisemp\u00e4\u00e4 lapsen ollessa viisivuotias. Kasvirasvalevitteen k\u00e4ytt\u00f6 v\u00e4heni sek\u00e4 \u00e4ideill\u00e4 ett\u00e4 isill\u00e4 lapsen odotusajalta siihen menness\u00e4, kun lapsi oli viisivuotias. Ruokavalion terveytt\u00e4 edist\u00e4v\u00e4 laatu ja kasvisten p\u00e4ivitt\u00e4inen k\u00e4ytt\u00f6 olivat yleisemp\u00e4\u00e4 korkeammin koulutetuilla kuin matalammin koulutetuilla vanhemmilla, sek\u00e4 \u00e4ideill\u00e4 yleisemp\u00e4\u00e4 kuin isill\u00e4.\n \nErityisesti \u00e4itien ruokailutottumuksissa vaikuttaa tapahtuvan muutoksia ensimm\u00e4isen lapsen saamisen my\u00f6t\u00e4. Terveytt\u00e4 edist\u00e4v\u00e4 ruokavalion laatu toteutuu \u00e4ideill\u00e4 raskausaikana paremmin kuin raskauden j\u00e4lkeen. T\u00e4t\u00e4 tietoa voidaan hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 neuvolassa tukemalla perheiden terveellisi\u00e4 ruokailutottumuksia sek\u00e4 lapsen odotusaikana ett\u00e4 lapsen syntym\u00e4n j\u00e4lkeen. Erityisesti tulee tukea matalamman koulutustason omaavia \u00e4itej\u00e4 hyvien ruokailutottumusten jatkamisessa lapsen syntym\u00e4n j\u00e4lkeen, koska heill\u00e4 on suurempi riski ruokavalion laadun heikkenemiseen raskauden j\u00e4lkeen. Jatkossa tulisi kuitenkin selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 laajemmin mitk\u00e4 tekij\u00e4t ovat yhteydess\u00e4 vanhempien ruokailutottumuksiin ja miten vanhempia voidaan parhaiten tukea raskaus- ja pikkulapsiaikana.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "The aim of this study was to examine dietary habits of mothers and fathers when expecting their first child and when the child is two and five years old. The aim was to examine whether parents\u2019 diet quality, use of vegetables daily and use of vegetable oil spread changed during the study. It was also examined whether parents\u2019 education level, family income, parents\u2019 age, gender and body mass index were associated with diet quality and use of vegetable and vegetable oil spread.\n\nThe study is based on the data from STEPS follow up study carried out by University of Turku. Baseline data were collected during pregnancy. Dietary habit data used in this study was collected during pregnancy and when the child was two and five years old. In this study the parents who were expecting their first child (n=1780) were included in the analyses. Cross tables, binary logistic regression analyses and McNemar\u2019s test were used to analyze the data. \n\nMothers with lower education had lower diet quality when the child was two years old than during pregnancy. Diet quality did not change among mothers with higher education or mothers who were again pregnant when the first child was two years old. Daily use of vegetables did not change from pregnancy until the child was two years old but was more common when the child was five years old. The use of vegetable oil spread decreased among mothers and fathers during the study. Diet quality and daily use of vegetables was more common among parents with higher education than lower education and more common among women than men.\n\nAccording to this study particularly mothers\u2019 dietary habits change after having the first child. Diet quality was better during pregnancy than after having a child. This information can be useful when supporting parents\u2019 healthy dietary habits during pregnancy and after having a child. Special attention should be paid to mothers with lower education and support them in continuing healthy dietary habits after having a child, as they are in greater risk to have poor diet quality after pregnancy.
