Lis\u00e4\u00e4ntyv\u00e4 kiinnostus on heijastunut tutkimukseen mobiiliteknologian hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4misest\u00e4 vieraiden kielten opiskelussa mobiiliavusteisen kielen oppimisen (esim. Gafni, Achituv ja Rachmani 2017) ja pelipohjaisen kielen oppimisen (esim. Reinhardt ja Sykes 2012) my\u00f6t\u00e4, sek\u00e4 enenev\u00e4ss\u00e4 m\u00e4\u00e4rin my\u00f6s yhteistoiminnallisessa kielen oppimisessa (esim. Fu ja Hwang 2018, Kukulska-Hulme ja Viberg 2018, Holden ja Sykes 2011). \n\nAiemmat tutkimukset eiv\u00e4t kuitenkaan ole selvitt\u00e4neet oppilaiden n\u00e4kemyksi\u00e4 pelipohjaisen ja yhteistoiminnallisen oppimisen yhdist\u00e4misest\u00e4 mobiilipelin avulla tilanteessa, jossa oppilaat harjoittelevat kahta vierasta kielt\u00e4 samaan aikaan. Edelt\u00e4v\u00e4t tutkimukset ovat hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4neet valmiita yhteistoiminnallisia ty\u00f6tapoja sen viiden perusperiaatteen (Johnson, Johnson ja Holubec 1994) suoran soveltamisen sijaan. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on vastata n\u00e4ihin puutteisiin tarkastelemalla oppilaiden n\u00e4kemyksi\u00e4 englannin ja ruotsin samanaikaisesta harjoittelusta kolmen hengen ryhmiss\u00e4 yhteistoiminnallisen School Detectives-mobiilipelin pelaamisen perusteella.\n\nTutkimukseen osallistui yhteens\u00e4 yhdeks\u00e4n 8.-luokkalaista oppilasta it\u00e4suomalaisesta koulusta. Aineisto koostui pelin pelaamistilanteiden videoinneista ja observoinneista, yksil\u00f6llisesti t\u00e4ytetyist\u00e4 kyselyist\u00e4 sek\u00e4 ryhm\u00e4haastatteluista. Materiaali analysoitiin laadullisen sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysin avulla. Tulokset osoittavat, ett\u00e4 vaikka oppilaiden n\u00e4kemykset olivatkin monisyisi\u00e4, he suhtautuivat mobiilipeliin ja sen tarjoamiin kielten opiskelumahdollisuuksiin varsin my\u00f6nteisesti. Yhteistoiminnalliset ryhm\u00e4t koettiin hy\u00f6dyllisiksi sosiaalisten taitojen ja kielten oppimisen sek\u00e4 peliss\u00e4 etenemisen kannalta. Suurin osa oppilaista piti enemm\u00e4n englannista kuin ruotsista osana peli\u00e4, mutta kahden kielen rinnakkainen k\u00e4ytt\u00f6 peliss\u00e4 n\u00e4htiin hyv\u00e4n\u00e4 asiana siit\u00e4 n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta, ett\u00e4 samalla oppii useampaa kuin yht\u00e4 kielt\u00e4. L\u00e4hes kaikki halusivat pelata vastaavaa peli\u00e4 jatkossa, ja osa oppilaista suhtautui my\u00f6nteisesti ajatukseen useamman kielen yht\u00e4aikaisesta opiskelusta yleisesti kielten tunneilla.\n\nTutkimuksen tarkoituksena on innostaa kielten opettajia luomaan ja kokeilemaan mobiilipelej\u00e4 rohkeasti osana opetusta. Tulosten perusteella yhteistoiminnallinen mobiilipeli voisi olla oppilaille mieluinen toteutustapa monialaisille oppimiskokonaisuuksille, jolloin peliin voisi yhdist\u00e4\u00e4 eri kielten lis\u00e4ksi muitakin oppiaineita.
