Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli nostaa esille \nyksil\u00f6iden moninaisia kokemuksia kouluun kiinnittymisest\u00e4 ja t\u00e4t\u00e4 kautta lis\u00e4t\u00e4 tietoisuutta niist\u00e4 keinoista, joita huostaanotetun lapsen ja nuorten kanssa toimivat aikuiset \nvoisivat toteuttaa kouluun kiinnittymisen tukemiseksi. \nLaadullinen tutkimusaineisto ker\u00e4ttiin haastattelemalla kahdeksan 18\u221220-vuotiasta nuorta, joilla oli huostaanottotausta. Haastattelut tehtiin helmi-huhtikuun 2017 aikana ja ne toteutettiin puolistrukturoidun haastattelun menetelm\u00e4\u00e4 hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4en. Haastattelut litteroitiin ja analyysi toteutettiin sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysin keinoin. \nOpettaja-oppilassuhteen merkitys huostaanotetun lapsen koulutaipaleella oli huomattava. Yksil\u00f6llisell\u00e4 kohtaamisella, tasavertaisella kohtelulla, vahvalla auktoriteetilla \nja lapsen tarpeiden huomioimisella oli keskeinen merkitys kouluun kiinnittymisen kannalta. My\u00f6s kokemukset vertaissuhteista l\u00e4himm\u00e4ss\u00e4 kaveripiiriss\u00e4 ja eri opetusryhmiss\u00e4 olivat kiinnittymisen n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4ss\u00e4 asemassa. Muita tahoja vaikuttamassa my\u00f6nteisesti huostaanotetun kouluun kiinnittymiseen olivat koulun terveydenhuolto sek\u00e4 sijaishuoltopaikan ty\u00f6ntekij\u00e4t. Kouluun kiinnittymisen kehittymisen kannalta ongelmallisiksi koettiin koulukiusaaminen sek\u00e4 erilaiset siirtym\u00e4vaiheet, kuten \nalakoulusta yl\u00e4kouluun siirtyminen tai koulunpaikan vaihtuminen. \nHuostaanotetulle lapselle tulisi koulussa antaa mahdollisuus muodostaa turvallisia kiintymyssuhteita niin opettajiin kuin vertaisiin. Heille tulisi tarjota koulussa oikeudenmukainen ja turvallinen kasvuymp\u00e4rist\u00f6, jossa heid\u00e4t kohdataan omana itsen\u00e4\u00e4n ja \nheille tarjotaan yksil\u00f6llist\u00e4 tukea.
