Johtoteht\u00e4viin liittyv\u00e4t huolenaiheet jaettiin kolmeen osa-alueeseen: huoli ep\u00e4onnistumisesta, huoli vaikeuksista ja ongelmista sek\u00e4 huoli ty\u00f6n ja muun el\u00e4m\u00e4n ep\u00e4tasapainosta. Johtamisen motivaatio jaettiin tunnepohjaiseen, ei-laskelmoivaan ja sosiaalis-normatiiviseen johtamisen motivaatioon. Tutkimuksen otos poimittiin Professoriliiton, Tieteentekij\u00f6iden liiton, Tekniikan Akateemisten ja Suomen Ekonomien j\u00e4senrekistereist\u00e4. Kyselytutkimukseen osallistui 765 johtajaa. Johtajista 56 prosenttia oli miehi\u00e4 ja tutkittavien keski-ik\u00e4 oli 52.2 vuotta (kh 8.7, vaihteluv\u00e4li 27\u201369). Kovarianssianalyysin tulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 kokemus johtamisen huolenaiheista ei eronnut sukupuolten v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Sen sijaan johtamisen motivaatiossa havaittiin sukupuolten v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 eroja. Naiset kokivat enemm\u00e4n tunnepohjaista motivaatiota ja miehet sosiaalis-normatiivista motivaatiota. Mit\u00e4 voimakkaammin johtajat kokivat huolenaiheita, sit\u00e4 v\u00e4hemm\u00e4n heill\u00e4 oli tunnepohjaista ja ei-laskelmoivaa johtamisen motivaatiota. K-keskiarvojen klusterianalyysin avulla johtajista identifioitiin nelj\u00e4 profiilia johtamisen huolenaiheiden ja motivaation suhteen: 1) huolettomat, v\u00e4h\u00e4n motivoituneet (27 %), 2) huolestuneet ja motivoituneet (26 %), 3) huolestuneet ja v\u00e4h\u00e4n motivoituneet (25 %) sek\u00e4 4) huolettomat, voimakkaasti motivoituneet (22 %). Johtop\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksen\u00e4 voidaan todeta, ett\u00e4 organisaatioiden tulisi kiinnitt\u00e4\u00e4 huomiota johtajien mahdollisuuksiin yhdist\u00e4\u00e4 ty\u00f6 ja muu el\u00e4m\u00e4, sill\u00e4 johtajat olivat eniten huolestuneita ty\u00f6n ja muun el\u00e4m\u00e4n ep\u00e4tasapainosta.
