Tutkin sek\u00e4 omakohtaisesti koettuja ett\u00e4 oletettuja kokemuksia. Haastattelin kolme naispuolista ja kolme miespuolista yl\u00e4koulujen liikuntatunnit joko seka- tai erillisryhmiss\u00e4 k\u00e4ynytt\u00e4 ihmist\u00e4. He olivat 18 \u2013 25-vuotiaita. Kaksi heist\u00e4 oli liikuntakasvatuksen opiskelijoita. K\u00e4ytin laadullisia tutkimusmenetelmi\u00e4 ja aineiston kokosin teemahaastatteluilla. Aineiston analysointiin k\u00e4ytin laadullisen tutkimuksen sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysi\u00e4. \u00c4\u00e4nitin haastattelut. Haastatteluiden kestot vaihtelivat 15 \u2013 58-minuutin v\u00e4lill\u00e4, keskiarvo oli 44 minuuttia. Litteroituja sivuja oli yhteens\u00e4 72, riviv\u00e4lill\u00e4 1,5, fontilla Times New Roman ja fontikoolla 12. \nHaastatteluiden perusteella yl\u00e4koulujen liikuntatuntien seka- ja erillisryhmist\u00e4 l\u00f6ytyi paljon sek\u00e4 my\u00f6nteisi\u00e4 ett\u00e4 kielteisi\u00e4 kokemuksia ja oletuksia. Naisten aineiston my\u00f6nteisi\u00e4 erillisopetusta koskevia kokemuksia l\u00f6ytyi kolmen yl\u00e4luokan verran: rohkeaa ja rentoa tekemist\u00e4 ilman suorituspaineita, onnistumisen kokemukset ja naisopettaja. My\u00f6s miesten aineistosta muodostui kolme yl\u00e4luokkaa: fyysisyys, tekemiseen keskittyminen ja paljon pallopelej\u00e4. Naisten kokemia erillisopetuksen kielteisi\u00e4 yl\u00e4luokkia olivat puolestaan seuraavat: v\u00e4h\u00e4isempi fyysinen aktiivisuus, lyhyemm\u00e4t liikuntatunnit ja tytt\u00f6m\u00e4iset lajivalinnat. Yhdell\u00e4k\u00e4\u00e4n miehell\u00e4 ei ollut kielteisi\u00e4 kokemuksia erillisryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4 liikkumisesta. He kuitenkin olettivat, ett\u00e4 poikien erillisopetuksessa tytt\u00f6ihin tutustuminen olisi saattanut esty\u00e4. Sekaopetuksestakin l\u00f6ytyi sek\u00e4 my\u00f6nteisi\u00e4 ett\u00e4 kielteisi\u00e4 kokemuksia. Naisten my\u00f6nteisi\u00e4 kokemuksia oli nelj\u00e4n yl\u00e4luokan verran: aktiivisempaa ja taidokkaampaa toimintaa, yritteli\u00e4isyys ja n\u00e4ytt\u00e4misen halu, vuorovaikutus poikien kanssa sek\u00e4 miesopettaja. Haastatteluissa ei noussut miesten osalta esille my\u00f6nteisi\u00e4 kokemuksia sekaryhm\u00e4opetuksesta. Miehet kuitenkin olettivat, ett\u00e4 lajivalikoima olisi voinut monipuolistua, he olisivat voineet saada naispuolisia kavereita sek\u00e4 luokkaan olisi voinut tulla parempi yhteishenki sekaopetuksen ansiosta. Koko aineistoon n\u00e4hden, eniten kokemuksia oli naisilla sekaopetuksen kielteisyydest\u00e4. Niist\u00e4 muodostui nelj\u00e4 yl\u00e4luokkaa: syrjint\u00e4, suoriutumispaineet, tapaturmien pelko ja kontakti poikien kanssa sek\u00e4 suppeampi lajivalikoima. Vastaavasta miesten aineistosta l\u00f6ytyi seuraavat yl\u00e4luokat: taitoerot tytt\u00f6jen ja poikien v\u00e4lill\u00e4 ja tytt\u00f6jen liikunnallinen passiivisuus. I studied both personal and supposed experiences of the students. I interviewed three female and three male students who had attended physical education in either joint or separate classes. Two of them were university students in sport pedagogy at the time of the interview. The interviewees were between 18 and 25 years of age. I used qualitative research methods. The material was collected by theme interviews. In analysing the data I used qualitative research content analysis. I recorded the interviews. Interviews ranged from 15 to 58 minutes, averaging 44 minutes. The total number of transliterating pages 72, line spacing 1.5, font Times New Roman and font size 12. \nBased on the interviews, many positive and negative experiences and assumptions were found about coeducational and same-sex classes of physical education. Female\u00b4s positive experiences of same-sex education included three top categories: courageous and relaxed doing without pressure, the experiences of success and a female teacher. Also, the male\u00b4s material consisted of three top categories: physicality, concentration and lots of ball games. The negative top categories of same-sex education experienced by female were, in turn, the following: lower physical activity, shorter exercise classes and girlish sports choices. None of the males had any negative experiences of same-sex physical education classes. However, they assumed that getting acquainted with girls could have been blocked in same-sex education. Coeducational delivered also both positive and negative experiences. There were four top categories of female\u2019s experiences: more active and skilful action, eagerness and desire to show, interaction with boys and a male teacher. The interviews did\u00b4t deliver positive experiences of coeducational for the male. However, males assumed that the range of sports could have been diversified, they could have gained female friends and the class could have gained a better team spirit through joint tuition. The most subcategories in relation to the whole material were from the negative experiences of the female in coeducational, as much as nine subcategories. The observations were condensed into four top categories: discrimination, performance pressure, fear of accidents and contact with the boys, as well as, a more limited variety of sports. From the corresponding males\u00b4 material, the following top categories were found: skill differences between girls and boys and girls\u00b4 sporting passivity. In addition, males assumed that concentration might have tingled in coeducational.
