Jettien tutkimusta on tehty jo vuosikaudet ja se hallitaan hyvin my\u00f6s raskasionit\u00f6rm\u00e4yksiss\u00e4, joissa muodostuvaa kvarkkigluoniplasmaa on pystytty tutkimaan jettien liikem\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4h\u00e4vi\u00f6iden avulla. T\u00e4m\u00e4n perusteella on huomattu, ett\u00e4 kvarkkigluoniplasma jarruttaa sen l\u00e4pi kulkevia suurenergisi\u00e4 partoneita. Jettien lis\u00e4ksi partonien energiah\u00e4vi\u00f6it\u00e4 raskasionit\u00f6rm\u00e4yksess\u00e4 on tutkittu my\u00f6s dijettien avulla. Dijetti on m\u00e4\u00e4ritelty t\u00f6rm\u00e4yksen kahdesta suurimman energian omaavasta jetist\u00e4 muodostuvaksi systeemiksi. Aiempien RHIC- ja LHC-kiihdyttimist\u00e4 saatujen tulosten perusteella n\u00e4hd\u00e4\u00e4n, ett\u00e4 dijetin invariantti massa voi olla herkk\u00e4 raskasionit\u00f6rm\u00e4yksiss\u00e4 muodostuvan kvarkkigluoniplasman aiheuttamille muutoksille, mik\u00e4 antaa vahvan motivaation aiheen tutkimiselle.\n\nT\u00e4ss\u00e4 pro gradu -tutkielmassa esit\u00e4n ensimm\u00e4iset tulokset dijettien massajakaumista protoni-lyijy- ja lyijy-lyijy-t\u00f6rm\u00e4yksiss\u00e4 massakeskipiste-energialla 5,02 TeV ALICE-kokeelle LHC-kiihdyttimell\u00e4. Ty\u00f6ss\u00e4ni olen rekonstruoinut jetit varatuista hiukkasista k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en anti-kt jettialgoritmia resoluutioparametrilla R=0,4. Tulosteni mukaan protoni-lyijy-t\u00f6rm\u00e4yksiss\u00e4 dijetin massan muutokset verrattuna protoni-protoni-t\u00f6rm\u00e4yksiin ovat merkityksett\u00f6mi\u00e4. Vertaamalla lyijy-lyijy-tuloksia protoni-lyijy-tuloksiin n\u00e4kyy keskeisiss\u00e4 lyijy-lyijy-t\u00f6rm\u00e4yksiss\u00e4 mahdollinen muutos yli 100 GeV:n dijetin massan alueella.\n\nKokeessa osa hiukkasista j\u00e4\u00e4 havaitsematta, ja havaittujenkin hiukkasten liikem\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 mitataan \u00e4\u00e4rellisell\u00e4 resoluutiolla. T\u00e4m\u00e4n vuoksi k\u00e4sittelem\u00e4t\u00f6n data t\u00e4ytyy korjata ilmaisimesta johtuvien ep\u00e4fysikaalisten efektien huomioimiseksi, ja sit\u00e4 varten k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n niin kutsuttua unfolding-menetelm\u00e4\u00e4. Jets have been studied for years, and also used widely in heavy ion collisions, where the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) medium forms. Studying jets in heavy ion collisions showed that hard partons lose energy in the QGP medium. Hard parton energy loss has also been studied with dijets. A dijet is a system consisting of two of the most energetic jets in a collision. Previous studies from RHIC and LHC indicate that dijet invariant mass can be sensitive to modifications caused by the QGP medium.\n\nIn this thesis I present the first measurements of dijet mass distributions in proton-lead and lead-lead collisions at center-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. In this work, I have reconstructed jets from charged particles using the anti-kt jet reconstruction algorithm with resolution parameter R=0.4. According to my results, the proton-lead collisions show negligible modification in the dijet mass distribution compared to the proton-proton Monte Carlo simulation results. Comparing the lead-lead results to proton-lead shows possible modifications in the high dijet mass region over 100 GeV.\n\nIn the experiment some amount of the particles produced are lost to detector inefficiencies. The raw data can be corrected for the inefficiencies, and this procedure is called unfolding.
