Tavoitteena oli tutkia odotuksia ja pelkoja sek\u00e4 selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 mink\u00e4lainen k\u00e4sitys opiskelijoilla on ihmisen ja \u00e4lykk\u00e4\u00e4n teknologian suhteesta erityisesti ihmisen eksperttiyden n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta, ja toisaalta mitk\u00e4 ovat opiskelijoiden valmiudet kohdata teknologian my\u00f6t\u00e4 muuttuvan ty\u00f6el\u00e4m\u00e4n haasteet. Tutkielmassa oli oleellista my\u00f6s verrata opiskelijoiden subjektiivisten odotusten, asenteiden ja pelkojen suhdetta objektiivisempiin teoreettisessa viitekehyksess\u00e4 esitettyihin n\u00e4kemyksiin \u00e4lykk\u00e4\u00e4n teknologian kehityksest\u00e4 ja ty\u00f6el\u00e4m\u00e4n muutoksesta. Tutkimuksen kohderyhm\u00e4n\u00e4 olivat Etel\u00e4-Savon ammattiopiston opiskelijat. Tutkimusaineisto ker\u00e4ttiin s\u00e4hk\u00f6isen kyselyn avulla (N=150) helmikuussa 2018. \r\nTutkimustulosten mukaan opiskelijoilla on yksil\u00f6st\u00e4 riippuen hyvin erilaisia k\u00e4sityksi\u00e4 \u00e4lyteknologian kehityksest\u00e4 ja tulevista saavutuksista. \u00c4lyteknologian kehittymiseen ja kehityksen liian suureen nopeuteen liittyy kuitenkin yleisesti pelkoja, jotka voidaan liitt\u00e4\u00e4 esimerkiksi puutteelliseen kontrollin ja agenttiuden tunteeseen. Usko ihmisen eksperttiyteen suhteessa teko\u00e4lyteknologiaan on toisaalta eritt\u00e4in vahvaa. Eri sukupuolten v\u00e4lill\u00e4 l\u00f6ytyi eroja siten, ett\u00e4 miesten odotukset teko\u00e4lyteknologian saavutuksista olivat naisia suurempia naisten puolestaan kokiessa kehityksen miehi\u00e4 pelottavammaksi. Miehet toisaalta pyrkiv\u00e4t naisia enemm\u00e4n my\u00f6s pysym\u00e4\u00e4n mukana teknologian kehityksess\u00e4. Odotukset osoittautuivat silti monessa suhteessa ep\u00e4realistisiksi, kenties siksi, ett\u00e4 julkisessa keskustelussa ja mediassa teko\u00e4ly-k\u00e4sitett\u00e4 k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n varsin ep\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4isesti ja ep\u00e4johdonmukaisesti. \r\nMuuttuvan ty\u00f6el\u00e4m\u00e4n n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta huolestuttavin tulos oli se, ett\u00e4 opiskelijat uskovat nykyisen koulutuksensa takaavan ty\u00f6paikan aina el\u00e4keik\u00e4\u00e4n saakka. The purpose of this thesis was to find out how the students in secondary vocational education view on intelligent technology and the changes it provokes in the working life. The aim was to study their expectations and fears towards intelligent technology, and to find out what kind of impressions they have on human and intelligent technology interaction especially on the point of view of human expertise, and on the other hand what are their competences to meet the future challenges in working life. Essential thing in this study was also to compare the students\u00b4 subjective expectations, attitudes and fears to the more objective visions based on current science literature presented in the theoretical framework. The focus group of the study included all students studying in South Savo vocational college at the moment. The survey (N=150) was carried out online in February 2018. According to the results, the students have very individual and scattered perceptions on intelligent technology and it\u00b4s future accomplishments. However, artificial intelligence and the speed of it\u00b4s development provokes fear and worries among the students, perhaps because of the lack of feeling of control and meaningful agency. On the other hand, they very strongly believe on the expertise of a human compared to a machine. There are, however, differences between the sexes: Men have higher expectations and are more interested in technology development. Women on the other hand find the current development of intelligent technology more frightening. The expectations turned out to be unrealistic in many ways, perhaps because of the incoherent and vague use of the concept artificial intelligence in public discussions and media. The most alarming result concerning the fact that working life is rapidly changing is the result, that a high proportion of the students believe that their current education will guarantee them work till they retire.
