Tarkoituksena on tutkia t\u00e4m\u00e4n\nhiilinanoputki-hermiselluloosaliuoksen kuljetusta mikrofluidististen kanavien l\u00e4pi.\nL\u00e4hestymistapamme on k\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 PDMS mikrokanavia, joita valmistimme eri\nhalkaisijoilla. Muotit mikrokanavien valmistusta varten saimme Aalto yliopistosta.\n\nP\u00e4\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4\u00e4 varten on valmistettava PDMS kanavia, suoritettava\nhydrofiilisyyskasittelyj\u00e4 ja sonikaattorilla puhdistavia k\u00e4sittelyj\u00e4. Parhaan tuloksen\naikaansaamiseksi sonikoinnissa k\u00e4sittelimme PDMS:aa tunnin ajan isopropanooli\nliuoksessa, jonka j\u00e4lkeen annettiin PDMS:n lev\u00e4t\u00e4 2 tunnin ajan. By themselves, carbon nanotubes are\none of the most researched materials today.\n\nThe goal of this M.Sc. Thesis project was to study how flow in microfluidic channels\naffects or is affected by carbon nanotubes. We wished to find out how specific solid\nstructures we could mold out of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for carbon nanotube\nhemicellulose. For this purpose, we wanted to make a consistent flow of carbon\nnanotube hemicellulose in microfluidic channel and find its restrictions as function of\nwidth. Our approach was to use several PDMS microfluidic channels 5, 20, 30 and\n50\u03bcm wide and run the solution through all of them.\n\nFabrication methods requires producing PDMS channels, sonication and\nhydrophilicity treatments. The best method for sonication treatment was found to be\nan 1 hour sonication of PDMS in isopropanol, after which the PDMS -sample was let\nto rest for 2 hours before proceeding to the next phase. For the following RIE oxygen\nhydrophilicity treatment, the best results were received using 60 watts for 30 seconds.\nAfter the fabrication of PDMS channels, we observed the flow of carbon nanotube\nhemicellulose liquid through the channels. The smallest channel diameter, that the\ncarbon nanotube hemicellulose was able to pass repeatedly, was 30\u03bcm.
