Nikkeli on bioakkumuloituva eli\u00f6ille\r\nhaitallinen metalli, jota k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n teollisuuden raaka-aineena ymp\u00e4ri maailmaa. T\u00e4ss\u00e4\r\ntutkielmassa tarkasteltiin nikkelin kertymist\u00e4 t\u00e4pl\u00e4rapuun (Pacifastacus leniusculus)\r\nlaboratorio-olosuhteissa kahdella 14 vrk:n altistuskokeella eri nikkelialtistuspitoisuuksilla\r\nkahdessa eri l\u00e4mp\u00f6tilassa (7 ja 17 \u00b0C). Eri testil\u00e4mp\u00f6tiloilla pyrittiin selvitt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n, onko\r\nnikkelin kertyminen riippuvaista vaihtol\u00e4mp\u00f6isen t\u00e4pl\u00e4ravun aineenvaihduntatasosta.\r\nKokeiden kontrollihavainnoista poikkeavia nikkelipitoisuuksia t\u00e4pl\u00e4ravuista otetuissa\r\nn\u00e4ytteiss\u00e4 havaittiin jo 0,01 ja 0,09 mg Ni l-1 altistuspitoisuuksissa. Altistustasolla 7,7 mg\r\nNi l-1 nikkelin kertyminen t\u00e4pl\u00e4rapuun oli huomattavaa, ja suurimmat nikkelipitoisuudet\r\nmitattiin t\u00e4pl\u00e4rapujen kiduksista. L\u00e4mp\u00f6tilalla ei ollut tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4\u00e4 vaikutusta\r\nt\u00e4pl\u00e4ravun kidusten, maksahaiman, pyrst\u00f6lihaksen, sukupuolirauhasen ja\r\nruoansulatuskanavan nikkelikertymiin. L\u00e4mp\u00f6tilan vaikutuksen havaitsemista h\u00e4iritsi suuri\r\nrapuyksil\u00f6iden v\u00e4linen vaihtelu nikkelin kertymisess\u00e4. Ravuille on my\u00f6s ominaista suuri\r\nyksil\u00f6iden v\u00e4linen aineenvaihduntatason vaihtelu. In these emissions metals are often in the form of sulfide or chloride which are\r\nreadily bioavailable to biota. Nickel (Ni) is a hazardous metal for biota and it is used as a\r\nraw material in metal industry world-wide. In this thesis Ni accumulation in signal crayfish\r\n(Pacifastacus leniusculus) was studied with two 14-d experiments in different Ni exposure\r\nconcentrations and at two different water temperatures (7 ja 17 \u00b0C). The aim was to\r\ncompare Ni accumulation at two different water temperatures in order to examine if the\r\naccumulation is dependent on the metabolic rate of an ectothermic invertebrate. Measured\r\nNi concentrations of signal crayfish differed from control treatment already at the exposure\r\nconcentrations 0.01 and 0.09 mg Ni l-1. At 7.7 mg Ni l-1 concentration nickel accumulation\r\nin signal crayfish was high, and the highest concentrations were measured from the gill\r\nsamples. Ni concentrations of gills, hepatopancreas, digestive tract, tail muscle or gonad\r\ndid not differ statistically significantly between two temperatures. It is characteristic for\r\ncrayfish to have great variance in metabolic rate between individuals. Thus, the high\r\nvariance in Ni accumulation between the exposed crayfish individuals prevented the\r\nobservation of the temperature effect.
