Tutkimus tarkasteli onnistuivatko opettajat luomaan aktiivisen oppimisyhteis\u00f6n YouTubeen ja toimimaan siin\u00e4 itse aktiivisesti. Toisaalta tarkasteltiin katsojien mahdollisuuksia kommunikoida yhteis\u00f6ss\u00e4 ja olla mukana kehitt\u00e4m\u00e4ss\u00e4 oppimisymp\u00e4rist\u00f6\u00e4. Tutkimus etsi videokanavilta merkkej\u00e4 osallistavasta pedagogiasta sek\u00e4 vertaili kommentoinnin aktiivisuutta YouTubessa ja opettajien omilla Internet-sivuilla tai yhteis\u00f6palveluissa. \n\nTutkimuksen aineistoksi poimittiin YouTubesta valikoivalla otannalla kahdeksan kappaletta koulutettujen opettajien videokanavia ja kaikkiaan 36 videota, jotka analysoitiin ei-osallistuvaa havainnointia hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4en. Tuloksista k\u00e4y ilmi, ett\u00e4 koulutetut opettajat hallitsevat moniaistilliset metodit hyvin ja huomioivat opetusvideoissa yksil\u00f6lliset oppimistyylit, mutta auditiiviset ja visuaaliset oppijat huomioidaan yh\u00e4 paremmin kuin taktuaaliset ja kinesteettiset. Niit\u00e4 oppijoita, jotka oppivat helpoiten muiden ihmisten seurassa ei juurikaan huomioitu videoissa.
