Tavoitteena on kuvata rehellisesti ja aidosti niit\u00e4 vaikeuksia, joita koulussa hyvin menestynyt oppilas kohtasi jatko-opinnoissaan. Ensin oli vaikeutena oman ammattialan l\u00f6yt\u00e4minen ja sen keksimisen j\u00e4lkeen vaadittavan tutkinnon suorit-taminen. Opinpolkua tarkastellaan tutkittavan vuonna 2008 saaman ADD-diagnoosin valossa.\r\nADD on tarkkaavaisuus- ja ylivilkkaush\u00e4iri\u00f6 AD/HD:n t\u00e4ll\u00e4 hetkell\u00e4 v\u00e4hemm\u00e4n tunnettu tarkkaamattomuuspainotteinen alamuoto. Tutkimuksen teoriaosa koostuu oireyhtym\u00e4\u00e4 valottavasta l\u00e4\u00e4ketieteeseen painottuvasta osasta sek\u00e4 ongelmiin uutta n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmaa hakevasta osiosta. Teoriaosassa kuten koko tutkimuksessakin painotetaan aikuisn\u00e4k\u00f6-kulmaa.\r\nTutkimuksen p\u00e4\u00e4teht\u00e4v\u00e4n\u00e4 on selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, miten ADD on n\u00e4kynyt vai onko n\u00e4kynyt ol-lenkaan tutkittavan opinpolun eri vaiheissa. Tavoitteena on my\u00f6s \u201dsis\u00e4isen\u201d ADD:n n\u00e4kyv\u00e4ksi tekeminen sek\u00e4 ADD-tietouden lis\u00e4\u00e4minen kaikilla eri kouluasteilla. Tietou-den lis\u00e4\u00e4misen my\u00f6t\u00e4 toiveena on ymm\u00e4rryksen lis\u00e4\u00e4ntyminen kaikkia AD/HD:n eri ilmiasuja kohtaan.\r\nKoska tutkimuksen kohteena on vain yksi henkil\u00f6 ja h\u00e4nen opinpolkunsa, eiv\u00e4t tulokset tietenk\u00e4\u00e4n ole perinteisell\u00e4 tavalla yleistett\u00e4viss\u00e4. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tapauksen perusteella voidaan kuitenkin sanoa, ett\u00e4 vaikka koulunk\u00e4ynti olisikin sujunut kiitett\u00e4v\u00e4sti, voi henkil\u00f6ll\u00e4 silti olla vakavia h\u00e4iri\u00f6it\u00e4 tarkkaavuudessa. N\u00e4m\u00e4 h\u00e4iri\u00f6t saattavat ilmet\u00e4 mm. vaikeutena ammatinvalinnassa, kyvytt\u00f6myyten\u00e4 suorittaa opintoja loppuun tai ongelmina ar-jenhallinnassa. Opiskelu saattaa olla sit\u00e4 vaikeampaa, mit\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n se perustuu opis-kelijan omaan aloitteellisuuteen ja organisointiin. ADD:n tarkastelu taiton\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta k\u00e4sin tuo oireyhtym\u00e4n tarkasteluun mielenkiintoisen lis\u00e4n: jos ongelmien perussyy on puutteellisissa taidoissa, niit\u00e4h\u00e4n voi aina parantaa harjoittelulla. The target of this study is to describe honestly and truly the difficulties that the earlier \u201cgood pupil\u201d faced during her further studies. To start with, it was difficult for her to find the professional field of interest, and then to pass the required qualification. The learning path will be examined based on the ADD diagnosis that she was provided in 2008.\r\nADD refers to an attention deficit disorder, and it is nowadays considered as a predom-inantly inattentive subtype of the more widely known attention deficit hyperactivity disorder AD/HD. The theoretical part of the study consists of references to the medical facts behind the ADD syndrome, and it also tries to find new viewpoints to the prob-lems caused by this syndrome. The theoretical part of the study - as well as the whole study - follows a focused adult perspective.\r\nThe main target of the study is to find out, how ADD may have affected the various phases of the learning path in question. Another target of the study is to shed more light on the endogenous nature of ADD, and thus, to increase the awareness of ADD on all educational levels. The increased awareness of ADD hopefully also helps to understand the various other forms of manifestations of AD/HD.\r\nAs the study is based on one person and her learning path only, the results of the study cannot be generalized in the conventional manner. However, it can be concluded that a person may suffer from serious attention disturbances despite of having excelled in school. Later on, these disturbances may surface as difficulties in career selection, inab-ility to finish the studies, or difficulties in controlling everyday life. More the studying requires an own initiative and organizing on behalf of the student, more difficult the studying might become. Though, it brings an interesting addition to the aspects of the syndrome, if we start observing ADD from the skills perspective: In case the root cause of problems is lack of skills, this can be improved by relevant exercises.
