Niin\r\nsanottujen karppaajien k\u00e4sitys tyydyttyneen rasvan vaarattomuudesta on huolestuttanut\r\nravitsemusasiantuntijoita ja viranomaisia, ja asiasta on k\u00e4yty niin kutsuttua rasvasotaa\r\nmediassa. Koulutustason nousu ja muut yhteiskunnalliset muutokset vaikuttavat my\u00f6s\r\nasiantuntijuuteen ja mahdollistavat siihen kohdistuvan kritiikin, mik\u00e4 n\u00e4kyy my\u00f6s\r\nkarppauskeskustelussa. Tutkimuksen teoriatausta on Michel Foucault'n ajatuksissa vallan\r\nja tiedon yhteyksist\u00e4. Tutkimuksen analyysimenetelm\u00e4n\u00e4 on k\u00e4ytetty diskurssianalyysi\u00e4.\r\nTutkimuksen aineiston muodostaa karppaus.infon keskustelufoorumi, josta olen valinnut\r\ntutkimukseeni kahdeksan keskusteluketjua. \r\nTutkimuksen tulokset osoittavat, ett\u00e4 yleinen muutos asiantuntijuuteen suhtautumisessa\r\nn\u00e4kyy selv\u00e4sti karppaajien mielipiteiss\u00e4: Karppaajille asiantuntijuus on vahvasti\r\nkontekstuaalista, tilanteessa syntyv\u00e4\u00e4. Pelkk\u00e4 professioon vetoaminen ei riit\u00e4 takaamaan\r\nasiantuntijuutta, vaan tiedot t\u00e4ytyy perustella. Maallikon ja asiantuntijan rajat ovat\r\nh\u00e4m\u00e4rtyneet karppaajien puheissa: my\u00f6s maallikko voi nousta asiantuntijaksi omalla\r\nperehtymisell\u00e4. Lis\u00e4ksi v\u00e4h\u00e4hiilihydraattista ruokavaliota noudattavia pidet\u00e4\u00e4n\r\nkokemusasiantuntijoina. Omat kokemukset ja oman kehon tuntemukset nousevat esille\r\nmy\u00f6s terveellist\u00e4 ruokavaliota m\u00e4\u00e4ritelt\u00e4ess\u00e4. Ruumiin tuntemuksia kuunnellen jokainen\r\nvoi m\u00e4\u00e4ritell\u00e4 itselleen parhaiten sopivan ruokavalion. Terveellisen ruuan on oltava\r\nluonnollista ja maukasta, ja tietenkin v\u00e4h\u00e4hiilihydraatista ja sopivan rasvaista.
