L\u00e4ht\u00f6kohtana todetaan, ett\u00e4 tietotekniikkaa hy\u00f6dynnet\u00e4\u00e4n luonnontieteiden opetuksessa mahdollisuuksiin n\u00e4hden v\u00e4h\u00e4n. Ongelmina ovat esimerkiksi opettajien riitt\u00e4m\u00e4t\u00f6n aika, tietoteknisen laitteiston puute ja pedagogisen tuen riitt\u00e4m\u00e4tt\u00f6myys. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan erityisesti pedagogisen tuen merkityst\u00e4 tietotekniikan hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4misess\u00e4 kemian opetuksessa. \n\nTutkimusmenetelm\u00e4n\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin laadullista toimintatutkimusta. Tutkimuksen aineistona on tutkimusp\u00e4iv\u00e4kirjaan kertyneet muistiinpanot sek\u00e4 haastattelut. Toimintatutkimus toteutettiin kev\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 2012 ja siin\u00e4 oli mukana nelj\u00e4 kemian opettajaa kahdesta yl\u00e4koulusta.\n\nTutkimustulokset osoittavat, ett\u00e4 opettajien pedagogisen tuen tarve kohdistuu p\u00e4\u00e4asiassa tukitoimiin, joissa pedagoginen tukihenkil\u00f6 tunnistaa ja analysoi opettajan tietotekniikan opetusk\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n liittyv\u00e4t tarpeet ja toiveet sek\u00e4 ehdottaa opettajalle sopivia toteutusratkaisuja. Uuden tekniikan ensimm\u00e4iselle k\u00e4ytt\u00f6kerralle opetuksessa opettajat toivovat mukaan pedagogista tukihenkil\u00f6\u00e4. Opettajien mukaan pedagogisella tuella ei ole vaikutuksia tietoteknisiin taitoihin tai taitoihin soveltaa tieto- ja viestint\u00e4teknologiaa omaan opetukseen muuten kuin k\u00e4ytetyn ohjelman osalta. In the theoretical part of the study, the usefulness of ICT in science teaching will be analyzed based on previous studies. Furthermore, the biggest obstacles in using ICT and solutions for the problems attached to the use of ICT in science teaching will be explored. As a starting point of the thesis, it is stated that ICT is not used in science teaching as much as it could be used. There are many obstacles such as lack of teachers' time and lack of ICT equipment and pedagogical support. This study examines the impact of pedagogical support on using information and communicationtechnology in chemistry teaching.\n\nQualitative action research was used as a research method. The data consists of the accumulated research diary notes and the interviews. The action research was carried out in the spring of 2012. Four chemistry teachers from two secondary school participated in the study.\n\nAccording to the study, teachers need support actions, in which pedagogical support person identifies and analyzes teachers. needs and expectations regarding the ICT use and suggests how to implement ICT in teaching. Teachers stated thatthere should be pedagogical support person in the classespecially when using new technologies in teaching for the first time. The teachers did not see any relation between pedagogical support and development of their ICT skills or their skills to implement ICT in their teaching. However, they admitted that pedagogical support helped them to use the program.
