The primary focus was to explore whether co-teaching motivates seventh-grade students to participate and be physically active during physical education classes, as well as to identify which aspects of co-teaching are perceived as motivating factors for participation and activity. Additionally, the study aimed to investigate how co-teaching influences students' attitudes toward physical education and whether prior engagement in physical activities is associated with their experiences of co-teaching.\n\nThe study was conducted as a survey. Two 7th-grade classes participated in the study. Physical education lessons were conducted using the co-teaching model. A total of 39 students were involved. The co-teaching period lasted for the spring semester. Additionally, the study included both physical education teachers and the students\u2019 teaching assistant. There were two surveys in total: one for the students, which consisted of two sections, and one for the teachers. The surveys were based on theory related to the topic. The survey was conducted in the spring of 2024.\n\nThe results indicated that most students perceived co-teaching positively. Based on the findings, students, teachers, and the teaching assistant felt that co-teaching increased students\u2019 participation in physical education lessons. The study also revealed that boys reported a greater motivational boost from co-teaching than girls. In contrast, girls felt that co-teaching diversified the physical education lessons. Students who did not regularly engage in physical activities reported that co-teaching positively influenced their attitude toward physical education. Lis\u00e4ksi tutkimukseen osallistui molemmat liikunnanopettajat sek\u00e4 oppilaiden koulunk\u00e4ynninohjaaja. Kyselyit\u00e4 oli yhteens\u00e4 kaksi.
