Lis\u00e4ksi tutkittiin, millaisia eroja tutkittavat ovat kokeneet Suomen ja Ukrainan koululiikunnan v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Sotaa pakeneminen voi aiheuttaa kuormitusta nuoren mielen hyvinvoinnille, joten on t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 l\u00f6yt\u00e4\u00e4 keinoja pakolaisnuorten hyvinvoinnin edist\u00e4miseksi. Koululiikunta voidaan n\u00e4hd\u00e4 yhten\u00e4 keinona pakolaisten hyvinvoinnin ja sopeutumisen edist\u00e4j\u00e4n\u00e4, sill\u00e4 liikunta tutkitusti vaikuttaa positiivisesti psyykkiseen hyvinvointiin sek\u00e4 tarjoaa mahdollisuuksia sosiaalisten suhteiden luomiselle. \n \nTutkimus toteutettiin laadullisilla metodeilla, sill\u00e4 tarkoituksena oli tutkia nuorten omia kokemuksia. Tutkimusotteessa on piirteit\u00e4 fenomenologis-hermeneuttisesta tutkimusperinteest\u00e4. Tutkimuksen aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin puolistrukturoiduilla haastatteluilla, jotka toteutettiin englanniksi. Haastatteluihin osallistui kuusi 13\u201316-vuotiasta ukrainalaisnuorta, jotka k\u00e4viv\u00e4t valmistavaa luokkaa ja olivat asuneet Suomessa noin vuoden. Haastatteluaineisto analysoitiin laadullisella sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysilla. \n \nLiikuntatuntien keskeisimpi\u00e4 merkityksi\u00e4 hyvinvoinnille olivat mielialan paraneminen, ihannemin\u00e4n toteuttaminen, hyvinvointitaitojen oppiminen ja muutokset vertaissuhteissa. P\u00e4\u00e4osin oppilaiden mainitsemat merkitykset hyvinvoinnille olivat positiivisia, mutta liikuntatunnit saattoivat esimerkiksi my\u00f6s v\u00e4sytt\u00e4\u00e4 ja niill\u00e4 saattoi tulla konflikteja oppilaiden v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Ukrainan ja Suomen koululiikunnassa oli eroa vertais- ja oppilas-opettajasuhteiden tuttavuudessa sek\u00e4 autonomian kokemuksessa. Ukrainassa koettiin l\u00e4heisempi\u00e4 ihmissuhteita ja enemm\u00e4n autonomiaa. Koululiikunta edisti sopeutumista suomen kielen oppimisen ja suomalaiseen kulttuuriin tutustumisen kautta. Sopeutumista esti se, ett\u00e4 vain puolet oppilaista oli p\u00e4\u00e4ssyt liikkumaan yhdess\u00e4 suomalaisten oppilaiden kanssa ja yht\u00e4 lukuun ottamatta ukrainalaiset oppilaat eiv\u00e4t olleet saaneet koululiikunnasta suomalaisia kavereita. \n \nTutkimuksen tulokset osoittavat, ett\u00e4 koululiikunta on antanut Ukrainasta paenneille nuorille tilaisuuden kohottaa mielialaa ja kehitt\u00e4\u00e4 sosiaalisia taitoja. Tutkimus antaa viitteit\u00e4 siit\u00e4, ett\u00e4 koululiikunta voi tukea pakolaisnuorten sopeutumista uuteen kotimaahan, mik\u00e4 osaltaan my\u00f6s vaikuttaa nuorten psyykkiseen ja sosiaaliseen hyvinvointiin. Tutkimus antaa arvokasta tietoa liikunnanopettajille ukrainalaisten pakolaisoppilaiden kokemuksista. Maasta paenneita nuoria opettavien opettajien on hyv\u00e4 panostaa l\u00e4mpimiin opettaja-oppilassuhteisiin sek\u00e4 oppilaiden kohtaamiseen kielimuurista huolimatta.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "The purpose of this master's thesis was to investigate the experiences of youth who have fled from Ukraine because of war regarding the importance of school Physical Education for their mental and social well-being as well as their adaptation to Finland. Additionally, the purpose was to explore the differences the participants perceived between Physical Education in Finland and Ukraine. Fleeing from war can impose stress on the mental well-being of young people, hence it is important to find ways to promote their well-being. Physical Education can be seen as one way of promoting the well-being and adaptation of refugees, as research has shown that exercise has a positive impact on mental well-being and provides opportunities for creating social relationships. \n \nThe study was conducted using qualitative methods, as the purpose was to explore the participants' own experiences. The research approach has elements of phenomenological-hermeneutic tradition. Data for the study was collected through semi-structured interviews conducted in English. Six Ukrainian teenagers aged 13\u201316, who attended preparatory classes and had been living in Finland for about a year, participated in the interviews. The interview data was analysed using qualitative content analysis. \n \nThe key meanings of Physical Education for well-being included improvement in mood, execution of ideal self, learning well-being skills and changes in peer relationships. Mostly, the meanings mentioned by the students regarding well-being were positive, but for example, Physical Education classes could be also tiring and conflicts between students could arise. There were differences between Ukrainian and Finnish Physical Education in terms of familiarity in peer and student-teacher relationships and in the experience of autonomy. In Ukraine, closer relationships and more autonomy were experienced. Physical Education promoted adaptation through learning Finnish language and getting to know Finnish culture. The challenge for the adaptation was the fact that only half of the students had been in Physical Education classes with Finnish students, and apart from one student, Ukrainian students had not made Finnish friends through Physical Education. \n \nThe results of the study indicate that Physical Education has provided opportunities for young people who have fled Ukraine to improve mood and develop social skills. The study suggests that Physical Education can promote the adaptation of refugee youth to their new homeland, which also affects their mental and social well-being. The study provides valuable information for Physical Education teachers about the experiences of Ukrainian refugee students.
