Tämä opinnäytetyö on tehty integroivana katsauksena syntetisoimalla uuden sukupolven kognitio tiedettä ja muusikoiden tuki- ja liikuntaelimistön ongelmien ennaltaehkäisyn tutkimusta sekä sen soveltamia mahdollisuuksia oppimisympäristöön tunnistaen musiikillisen harjoituksen ennaltaehkäisevän, hyvinvointia edistävän sekä keholliskognitiivisen roolin. Opinnäytetyö tehtiin integroivana kirjallisuuskatsauksena, joka analysoitiin ja syntetisoitiin induktiivista tutkimus suunnitelmaa hyödyntäen temaattisen, vertailevan sekä sisältöanalyysimenetelmien avulla käyttäen kriittistä tulkin taa ja kerronnallista yhteenvetoa, jotka soveltuvat sekamenetelmä- tutkimuksen synteesiin. Tiedonhaku suoritettiin 11.10.2023. Sisällytin 11 tutkimusta kvalitatiiviseen synteesiin, joista 8 oli tutkimusartikkeleita ja 3 väitöskirjoja. Mukana olevat tutkimukset painottivat soitonopetusmenetelmiä, kokonaisvaltaista ennaltaehkäisyä sekä uuden sukupolven kognitiotiedettä musiikillisessa oppimisympäristössä. Synteesi kehittyi kahden korkean tason teeman ympärille: 1) kehollisuus ja keholliskognitiivinen itsesäätely ja 2) ympäristö kognitiivisissa strategioissa. Synteesin perusteella uuden sukupolven kognitiotieteen tutkimusohjelma voisi tuoda lisäarvoa muusikoiden tuki- ja liikuntaelimistön ongelmien ennaltaehkäisyn kehitykseen huomioiden somaattisten menetelmien aisti- ja huomionhallintakeskeisiä näkökulmia sekä kehollisia ja ympäristöön liittyviä vihjeitä oppimisympäristössä, kehollisen musiikkikognition näkökulmia, kehollisuuteen liittyviä ontologisia kysymyksiä sekä useita ympäristön hyödyntämiseen liittyviä opetuskäytännön näkökohtia. My assumption is that the low focus on issues according to motor skills development, multisensory development and playing-related ergonomics contributes to the prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms among professional musicians. This thesis is conducted as an integrative review by synthesizing the current research of embodied cognition and the prevention of musician’s musculoskeletal problems and its applied possibilities for learning environment identifying the preventive, wellbeing promoting and embodied role of musical practice. The thesis is conducted as a mixed method integrative literature review with inductive research design analyzed and synthesized with thematic, constant comparative and content analysis as the critical interpretive approach and narrative summary suitable for mixed method research synthesis. The data search was conducted 11.10.2023. 11 studies were included for qualitative synthesis of which 8 were research articles and 3 were dissertations. Included studies emphasized teaching methods, holistic prevention and embodied cognition in musical learning environment. The synthesis developed around two high-level themes: 1) Embodiment and Embodied Self-Regulation and 2) Environment in Cognitive Strategies. Based on synthesis, research program of embodied cognition could bring added value to the development of prevention of musician’s musculoskeletal problems regarding the sensory and attentional control-focused perspectives of somatic methods in the learning environment by considering embodied and environ mental cues, embodied music cognition, ontological questions related to embodiment and several environment-related practical aspects.
