Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, onko ryhmien v\u00e4lill\u00e4 eroavaisuuksia ja pohtia, mist\u00e4 mahdolliset erot voisivat johtua. Tutkimusidea l\u00e4hti liikkeelle vuonna 2023, kun seurasin mediassa k\u00e4yt\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4 diskurssia teknologian k\u00e4yt\u00f6st\u00e4 opetuksessa. Uutiset ja keskustelut keskittyiv\u00e4t paljolti opettajien n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmiin, joten aloin pohtimaan, onko opettajaopiskelijoilla erilaisia mielipiteit\u00e4. Tutkimus on luonteeltaan m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4llinen, ja sen aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin l\u00e4hett\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 kysely Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopiston ainej\u00e4rjest\u00f6lle Magna Carta ry:lle ja useisiin Facebookin englannin opettajien ryhmiin. Aineisto analysoitiin tilastollisen analyysin avulla erilaisia taulukoita ja kuvioita k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en. Tutkimuksessa oli my\u00f6s muutama avoin kysymys, jotka analysoitiin kategorisoimalla aihealueita.\n\nTutkimuksen tulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 molemmat ryhm\u00e4t suhtautuvat positiivisesti teknologian k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n kielten opetuksessa ja oppimisessa. Vastausten pohjalta ilmeni, ett\u00e4 teknologiaa k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n suhteellisen tasapainoisesti muun opetusmateriaalin ohella. T\u00e4m\u00e4n lis\u00e4ksi tulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 opettajat suhtautuvat teknologian k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n hieman positiivisemmin kuin opettajaopiskelijat. Opettajat my\u00f6s kannustavat teknologian ja sen eri muotojen k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4 hieman enemm\u00e4n kuin opettajaopiskelijat. Opettajaopiskelijat kuitenkin ajattelivat puhelimien olevan hieman enemm\u00e4n hy\u00f6dyllisi\u00e4 kuin ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 olevat opettajat. Tulokset osoittivat silti, ett\u00e4 molemmat ryhm\u00e4t kokevat puhelimet l\u00e4hinn\u00e4 h\u00e4iritseviksi, eiv\u00e4tk\u00e4 koe tarpeelliseksi niiden tai muun teknologian lis\u00e4\u00e4mist\u00e4 opetuksessa. Tulokset osoittivat my\u00f6s, ett\u00e4 ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 olevat opettajat ajattelivat teko\u00e4lyn roolin kasvavan tulevaisuudessa. Molemmat ryhm\u00e4t my\u00f6s ajattelivat erilaisten digitaalisten ty\u00f6kalujen, pelien ja materiaalien olevan hy\u00f6dyllisi\u00e4 opiskelijan oppimisprosessissa. Tuloksien mukaan molemmat ryhm\u00e4t kannustivat tiettyjen pelien k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4 luokan ulkopuolella: Wordle ja Duolingo. \n\nTulosten pohjalta voidaan todeta, ett\u00e4 ryhmien v\u00e4lill\u00e4 ei ollut merkitt\u00e4vi\u00e4 eroja. Molemmat ryhm\u00e4t tunnistivat teknologian hy\u00f6dyt, mutta eiv\u00e4t halunneet lis\u00e4t\u00e4 teknologian k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4. T\u00e4m\u00e4 on linjassa t\u00e4m\u00e4nhetkisen julkisen keskustelun kanssa. Tutkimusta ei voi yleist\u00e4\u00e4 liian pienen otosjoukon takia, mutta tutkimus luo silti hyv\u00e4n pohjan jatkotutkimuksille. Jatkotutkimusta voitaisiin tehd\u00e4 tutkimalla suurempaa otosta tai haastattelemalla ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 olevia opettajia ja opettajaopiskelijoita.
