Lis\u00e4ksi edell\u00e4 mainitut asiat luovat paljon uutta dataa, jota analysoimalla voidaan tehd\u00e4 uusia johtop\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksi\u00e4 sek\u00e4 tulkintoja. Suuri m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 dataa ei ole itsess\u00e4\u00e4n viel\u00e4 tehokas ty\u00f6kalu. Se vaatii ymp\u00e4rilleen osaamista sek\u00e4 ymm\u00e4rryst\u00e4, jolloin siit\u00e4 voidaan tulkita kuvioita ja kaavoja. Data-analyysin avulla datasta saadaan muokattua hyvinkin toimiva ty\u00f6kalu moniin erilaisiin tarpeisiin. Datan oikeanalainen analysointi sek\u00e4 hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4minen mahdollistavat yrityksille merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4n kilpailuedun toisiinsa n\u00e4hden. T\u00e4ten t\u00e4ss\u00e4 kirjallisuuskatsauksessa pyrit\u00e4\u00e4n kasaamaan yhteen tutkimusta Big Datan haasteista sek\u00e4 mahdollisuuksista finanssisekotorin kontekstissa sek\u00e4 tuomaan esiin ja k\u00e4sittelem\u00e4\u00e4n n\u00e4iden tutkimusten tuloksia. T\u00e4m\u00e4 kandidaatin ty\u00f6 on toteutettu kirjallisuuskatsauksena ja se kokoaa yhteen tutkimuksia aiheesta. Kandidaatin ty\u00f6n pohjana k\u00e4ytettiin tieteellisi\u00e4 tutkimuksia aiheen ymp\u00e4rill\u00e4. Keskeisimm\u00e4t tutkimustulokset Big Datan hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4misen mahdollisuuksiin finanssialalla ovat muun muassa tehokkaampi sijoitustoiminta sek\u00e4 asiakaskokemuksen parantaminen. New applications are constantly emerging for a variety of uses in different sectors. These devices, systems and applications need some form of data to function. In addition to the above, a lot of new data is being created, which can be analyzed to make new management decisions and interpretations. A large amount of data is not in itself an effective working fish. It requires knowledge and understanding around it, so that patterns and graphs can be interpreted from it. Data analysis can be used to turn data into a highly functional tool for a wide range of needs. The correct analysis and use of data can give companies a signif icant competitive advantage over others. The use of data in financial markets can bring major benefits at both national and international level. Studies have pre dicted that the right choice, collection and analysis of data can even prevent fi nancial crises. There is relatively little research on the use and analysis of Big Data in the context of financial markets. Thus, this literature review aims to bring together research on the challenges and opportunities of Big Data in the context of the financial sector and to highlight and discuss the results of these studies. This bachelor thesis has been conducted as a literature review and it brings together studies on the topic. The thesis was based on scientific studies around the topic. The main research findings on the potential of using Big Data in the financial sector include more efficient investment activities and improved customer experience.
