Et\u00e4ty\u00f6n vuorovaikutuksen on pandemia-ajan tutkimuksissa todettu eroavan l\u00e4hity\u00f6n vuorovaikutuksesta, mik\u00e4 osaltaan on vaikuttanut ty\u00f6hyvinvointiin et\u00e4ty\u00f6ss\u00e4. Erityisesti keho ja kehon v\u00e4litt\u00e4m\u00e4 vuorovaikutus, kuten ilmeet ja eleet, v\u00e4littyv\u00e4t et\u00e4tapaamisissa videon kautta eri tavalla kuin l\u00e4hitapaamisissa. Tutkimusta kehosta ja vuorovaikutuksesta hybridity\u00f6ss\u00e4 ei ole viel\u00e4 liiemm\u00e4lti tehty. T\u00e4m\u00e4 pro gradu -tutkielma tutkii, millaisia kokemuksia hybridity\u00f6t\u00e4 tekevill\u00e4, julkisen sektorin HR-asiantuntijoilla, on kehosta ja kehollisuudesta hybridity\u00f6n l\u00e4hi- ja et\u00e4vuorovaikutustilanteissa.\n\nTutkimusaineisto ker\u00e4ttiin kev\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 2024 viiden teemahaastattelun avulla. Tutkimukseen osallistujat ty\u00f6skenteliv\u00e4t hybridimuotoisesti er\u00e4\u00e4n suuren suomalaiskaupungin henkil\u00f6st\u00f6hallinnossa. Aineisto analysoitiin kuusivaiheisen refleksiivisen temaattisen analyysin avulla. \n\nAnalyysin tuloksena julkisen sektorin HR-asiantuntijoiden kokemuksista kehosta ja kehollisuudesta hybridity\u00f6n l\u00e4hi- ja et\u00e4vuorovaikutustilanteissa muodostui kolme p\u00e4\u00e4teemaa: 1. Kokonainen ja tunteva keho, 2. Ilmaiseva ja l\u00e4sn\u00e4oleva keho ja 3. Vuorovaikutuksen k\u00e4yt\u00e4nteet ja puitteet. Ensimm\u00e4isen p\u00e4\u00e4teeman muodostivat kokemukset kehon merkityksest\u00e4 hybridity\u00f6n vuorovaikutustilanteissa, kokemukset l\u00e4hitapaamisten kokonaisvaltaisuudesta, sek\u00e4 kokemukset kehossa tuntuvista ja n\u00e4kyvist\u00e4 tunteista. Toinen p\u00e4\u00e4teema koostui kokemuksista kehollisesta ilmaisusta vuorovaikutustilanteissa ja kokemuksista siit\u00e4, miten keho ilmaisee l\u00e4sn\u00e4oloa ja miten sit\u00e4, kun ei olla tai haluta olla l\u00e4sn\u00e4. Kolmannen p\u00e4\u00e4teeman alle koottiin kokemukset et\u00e4tapaamisten vuorovaikutusk\u00e4yt\u00e4nteist\u00e4 ja kokemukset fyysisen tilan vaikutuksesta kehoon ja vuorovaikutukseen. \n\nTutkimukseen osallistujat kokivat kehon merkityksen julkisen sektorin HR-asiantuntijan hybridity\u00f6ss\u00e4 pieneksi, mutta tunnistivat kehon osallistuvan vuorovaikutukseen l\u00e4hi- ja et\u00e4tapaamisissa. Kehon koettiin v\u00e4litt\u00e4v\u00e4n tunteita, l\u00e4sn\u00e4oloa, mielialaa ja tunnelmaa. Johtop\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksin\u00e4 voidaan todeta, ett\u00e4 hybridity\u00f6ss\u00e4 ty\u00f6tapaamiset, joissa kehon v\u00e4litt\u00e4m\u00e4 vuorovaikutus on keskeisess\u00e4 asemassa, kuten ristiriitatilanteiden ratkaisu, tulisi j\u00e4rjest\u00e4\u00e4 l\u00e4hitapaamisina. Lis\u00e4ksi l\u00e4hitapaamiset tulisi j\u00e4rjest\u00e4\u00e4 tilassa, joka mahdollistaa toimivan vuorovaikutuksen. S\u00e4\u00e4nn\u00f6lliset l\u00e4hitapaamiset tukevat ty\u00f6hyvinvointia, mahdollistavat kollegoihin tutustumisen ja parantavat my\u00f6s et\u00e4tapaamisten vuorovaikutusta. Yhteiset s\u00e4\u00e4nn\u00f6t ja toimintatavat tukevat ja edist\u00e4v\u00e4t et\u00e4tapaamisten vuorovaikutusta. Kameroiden k\u00e4ytt\u00f6 mahdollistaa kehon v\u00e4litt\u00e4m\u00e4n vuorovaikutuksen v\u00e4littymist\u00e4 et\u00e4tapaamisissa ja tukee et\u00e4vuorovaikutusta. Hybridity\u00f6n ty\u00f6hyvinvoinnin edist\u00e4miseksi ty\u00f6yhteis\u00f6iss\u00e4 tulisi k\u00e4yd\u00e4 yhteist\u00e4 ja avointa keskustelua hybridity\u00f6n vuorovaikutusk\u00e4yt\u00e4nteist\u00e4 ja huomioida ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6iden yksil\u00f6lliset kokemukset l\u00e4hi- ja et\u00e4vuorovaikutustilanteista.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "In the post-COVID-19 pandemic era, hybrid work, which combines remote work and working from the office, has become widely accepted as a new way of working, among other things, in public administration sector. Research conducted during the pandemic has shown that interaction in remote work differs from face-to-face interaction, affecting employee wellbeing. Specifically body and embodied communication, such as facial expressions and gestures, are conveyed differently via video in remote meetings compared to face-to-face meetings. However, there has not been much research regarding body and interaction on hybrid work yet. The aim of this master\u2019s thesis is to research the experiences of body and embodiment in face-to-face and remote interactions of public sector HR experts working in a hybrid mode. \n\nFive thematic interviews were conducted in the spring 2024. The interviewees worked in a hybrid mode for a human resources department of a large Finnish city. The data was analysed using reflexive thematic analysis. \n\nAs a result of the analysis the experiences of body and embodiment in hybrid work face-to-face and remote interactions formed three main themes: 1. The holistic, sensing and feeling body, 2. The expressive and present body and 3. The practices and frameworks of interaction. The first main theme encompassed experiences regarding the meaning of the body in hybrid work interaction, experiences of encountering another person in the flesh in face-to-face meetings, and experiences of emotions felt and visible in the body. The second theme consisted of experiences related to bodily expressions and experiences of how the body represents presence or absence. The third main theme was formed from experiences regarding various interaction practices in remote meetings and experiences of how space influenced body and interaction. \n\nAlthough the role of the body was considered minor in the work of public sector HR experts, it was still perceived as an integral part of interaction in both face-to-face and remote meetings within hybrid work. The body communicated feelings, presence, mood and atmosphere. In conclusion, work meetings, where embodied communication is crucial, such as conflict resolution, should be conducted in person in a hybrid work setting. Additionally, the space, in which live meetings are held should support effective interaction. Regularly meeting colleagues face-to-face improves work wellbeing, fosters relationships, builds trust, and enhances interaction in remote work meetings. Establishing commonly agreed-upon rules and practices will improve and clarify interaction in remote meetings. Using cameras in remote meetings enhances interaction and allows the transmission of bodily communication via video.
