Mikrobiaineistojen analysointi on usein haastavaa, sill\u00e4 aineistot ovat l\u00e4hes aina suuriulotteisia. Muita mikrobiaineistoille tyypillisi\u00e4 piirteit\u00e4 ovat harvuus ja ylihajonta. Suuriulotteisuudesta johtuen mikrobiaineistojen tutkimiseen on usein k\u00e4ytetty ulottuvuuksia v\u00e4hent\u00e4vi\u00e4 ordinaatiomenetelmi\u00e4. Ordinaatiomenetelmien avulla moniulotteisen aineiston sis\u00e4lt\u00e4m\u00e4 tieto voidaan esitt\u00e4\u00e4 kahdessa ulottuvuudessa.\n\nT\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkielmassa on tavoitteena vertailla kahta mallipohjaista menetelm\u00e4\u00e4 \u2013 kopula-ordinaatiomenetelm\u00e4\u00e4 ja yleistetty\u00e4 lineaarista latenttimuuttujamenetelm\u00e4\u00e4 \u2013 klassisiin ordinaatiomenetelmiin kuten p\u00e4\u00e4komponenttianalyysiin ja ei-metriseen moniulotteiseen skaalaukseen. Menetelmien vertailu tehtiin simulointikokeiden avulla, joissa aineistoja generoitiin eri menetelmill\u00e4. Simuloitujen aineistojen mallina k\u00e4ytettiin oikeaa, Ukrainan T\u0161ernobylin alueelta ker\u00e4tty\u00e4 aineistoa. Alueelta pyydystettiin mets\u00e4myyri\u00e4, joiden suolten mikrobiomeja mitattiin sekvensointimenetelm\u00e4ll\u00e4. Aineiston myyr\u00e4t oli pyydystetty nelj\u00e4st\u00e4 eri kohteesta, joista kaksi oli s\u00e4teilyn saastuttamia ja kaksi saastumattomia. \n\nSimulointikokeiden tulokset eiv\u00e4t antaneet yksiselitteist\u00e4 vastausta siihen, mitk\u00e4 ordinaatiomenetelm\u00e4t toimivat parhaiten mikrobiaineistojen analysoimiseen. Eri menetelm\u00e4t tulkitsevat aineiston sis\u00e4lt\u00e4m\u00e4n informaation eri tavoin, joten aineiston generointitapa vaikuttaa siihen, miten hyvin kukin menetelm\u00e4 toimii.
