Tavoitteenamme oli my\u00f6s tutkia ty\u00f6hyvinvoinnin ja sen muutosten eroja eri et\u00e4ty\u00f6profiilien v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Koronapandemian aikana et\u00e4ty\u00f6 oli usein niin kutsuttua pakotettua et\u00e4ty\u00f6t\u00e4, jossa ty\u00f6t\u00e4 tehtiin ty\u00f6paikan ulkopuolella ty\u00f6ntekij\u00e4n omista toiveista riippumatta. Kyselyill\u00e4 vuosina 2017, 2019 ja 2021 ker\u00e4ttyyn pitkitt\u00e4isaineistoon kuului 610 korkeasti koulutettua ty\u00f6ntekij\u00e4\u00e4. Kokemuksia et\u00e4ty\u00f6st\u00e4 kartoitettiin kolmella kysymyksell\u00e4: 1) Kuinka paljon teet juuri t\u00e4ll\u00e4 hetkell\u00e4 et\u00e4ty\u00f6t\u00e4? 2) Kuinka paljon teit et\u00e4ty\u00f6t\u00e4 ennen korona-aikaa? 3) Kuinka paljon haluaisit tehd\u00e4 et\u00e4ty\u00f6t\u00e4 jatkossa korona-ajan j\u00e4lkeen? Ty\u00f6uupumusta mitattiin 9-osioisella Bergen Burnout Indicator \u2013kyselyll\u00e4 ja ty\u00f6n imua 3-osioisella Utrecht Work Engagement Scale \u2013kyselyll\u00e4. K-keskiarvojen klusterianalyysill\u00e4 tutkimukseen osallistuneet ty\u00f6ntekij\u00e4t jakautuivat et\u00e4ty\u00f6n tekemisen suhteen kolmeen profiiliin. Kokeneet et\u00e4ty\u00f6ntekij\u00e4t (n = 282, 46,2 %) raportoivat ennen pandemiaa ja pandemian aikana tehneens\u00e4 muita profiileja enemm\u00e4n et\u00e4ty\u00f6t\u00e4 ja toivoivat jatkossakin tekev\u00e4ns\u00e4 paljon et\u00e4ty\u00f6t\u00e4. Pakotetut et\u00e4ty\u00f6ntekij\u00e4t (n = 258, 42,3 %) puolestaan olivat ennen pandemiaa tehneet et\u00e4ty\u00f6t\u00e4 vain v\u00e4h\u00e4n, mutta pandemian aikana heid\u00e4n et\u00e4ty\u00f6n m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4ns\u00e4 oli kasvanut keskim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4ist\u00e4 korkeammalle tasolle. Jatkossa he toivoivat tekev\u00e4ns\u00e4 vain v\u00e4h\u00e4n et\u00e4ty\u00f6t\u00e4. Et\u00e4ty\u00f6n vieroksujien (n = 282, 46,2 %) et\u00e4ty\u00f6n m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 sek\u00e4 toiveet tulevaisuuden et\u00e4ty\u00f6n m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4st\u00e4 olivat sen sijaan hyvin v\u00e4h\u00e4isi\u00e4. Toistomittausten kovarianssianalyysin tulokset osoittivat, ettei profiileilla ollut yhteytt\u00e4 ty\u00f6hyvinvoinnin tasoon tai muutoksiin. The primary aim of our study was to explore what kind of remote work profiles can be identified among highly educated professionals. The profiles were formed based on the amount of remote work they had done before and during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the amount of remote work they hoped to do after the pandemic. In addition, we examined how the remote work profiles were associated with occupational well-being (burnout and its three core dimensions, work engagement). At the baseline of the study, our sample included 610 highly educated professionals from four different professional groups (professors, university researchers, business graduates, technology academics). Using K-means cluster analysis we identified three profiles in which the amount of remote work in the three time points differed significantly. Experienced remote workers (n = 282, 46,2 %) reported the highest amounts of remote work in all three time points. Enforced remote workers (n = 258, 42,3 %) reported very small amounts of remote work before and after the pandemic but worked remotely a lot more during the pandemic. Remote work avoiders (n = 282, 46,2 %), in turn, reported very small amounts of remote work in all three time points. The repeated measures covariance analysis showed that the remote work profiles were not associated with occupational well-being. Overall, occupational well-being was high among all participants despite their profile. The finding that professionals in different remote work profiles experienced high occupational well-being is remarkable given that remote work and hybrid work are becoming more common.
