Ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 oli tarkoituksena tehd\u00e4 n\u00e4kyv\u00e4ksi hierarkkista valtaa omaavien johtajien inhimillisi\u00e4 kokemuksia viestint\u00e4arkuudesta ja tavoistaan hallita sit\u00e4 ty\u00f6ss\u00e4\u00e4n. T\u00e4m\u00e4n ty\u00f6n tavoitteeseen pyrittiin kolmen tutkimuskysymyksen avulla: 1) Millaista viestint\u00e4arkuutta johtajat kokevat ty\u00f6ss\u00e4\u00e4n? 2) Millaisia merkityksi\u00e4 johtajat antavat ty\u00f6ss\u00e4\u00e4n kokemalleen viestint\u00e4arkuudelle? ja 3) Millaisin tavoin johtajat hallitsevat ty\u00f6ss\u00e4\u00e4n kokemaansa viestint\u00e4arkuutta. Tutkimusaineisto ker\u00e4ttiin teemahaastatteluiden avulla. Tutkielmaa varten haastateltiin kuutta eri henkil\u00f6\u00e4, joista jokainen ty\u00f6skenteli johtajana edustamassaan organisaatiossa ja oli kokenut viestint\u00e4arkuutta ty\u00f6ss\u00e4\u00e4n. Tutkimusaineisto analysoitiin aineistol\u00e4ht\u00f6isesti teemoittelemalla. Tulokset osoittavat, ett\u00e4 johtajat kokevat ty\u00f6ss\u00e4\u00e4n viestint\u00e4arkuutta erilaisten vuorovaikutukseen liittyvien tekij\u00f6iden johdosta. Johtajien viestint\u00e4arkuuden kokemukset ilmenev\u00e4t sek\u00e4 psyykkisten ajatusten ett\u00e4 fyysisten tuntemusten muodossa. Tuloksista k\u00e4y ilmi, ett\u00e4 johtajat n\u00e4kev\u00e4t heid\u00e4n kokemuksillaan viestint\u00e4arkuudesta olevan sek\u00e4 ty\u00f6n tulosta edist\u00e4v\u00e4 ett\u00e4 sit\u00e4 haastava merkitys. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkielman tulosten perusteella johtajien kyky hallita ty\u00f6ss\u00e4\u00e4n kokemaansa viestint\u00e4arkuutta on keskeinen, sill\u00e4 se m\u00e4\u00e4ritt\u00e4\u00e4 viestint\u00e4arkuuden kokemusten merkityksen heid\u00e4n ty\u00f6ss\u00e4\u00e4n. Tulosten mukaan johtajat hallitsevat ty\u00f6ss\u00e4\u00e4n kokemaansa viestint\u00e4arkuutta vuorovaikutusosaamisen avulla sek\u00e4 tietoisesti itse\u00e4\u00e4n viestint\u00e4arkuuden kokemuksilla haastamalla niit\u00e4 my\u00f6nteisiksi kehyst\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4. Kun johtajat kykenev\u00e4t hallitsemaan kokemuksiaan viestint\u00e4arkuudesta, he voivat viestint\u00e4arkuuden kokemusten ansiosta olla ty\u00f6ss\u00e4\u00e4n entist\u00e4 osaavampia.
