The emphasis of the thesis is particularly on teachers' experiences regarding the adoption and use of technology among them. The research is based on both previous research findings and new empirical interview data. The interview data was collected from 26 teachers in various rural schools. The central aim of the thesis is to understand how teachers' perceptions of technology and digitalization influence the renewal of teaching and the application of technology. Additionally, the thesis aims to identify the challenges and opportunities encountered by teachers in rural schools regarding the use of technology, thus complementing the gap observed in the existing research literature. A qualitative research method was chosen in the thesis to support the in-depth understanding of teachers' responses. Theme analysis was used in the analysis of the responses. The results of the analysis of the interview data highlight how technical support, peer support, and student assistance are crucial factors in the integration of technology. Technology was also found to increase motivation and creativity among teachers and students, although teachers' reluctance may hinder its adoption. The results strongly indicate that with teachers' positive attitudes and support, the integration of technology into the teaching of rural schools can be significantly promoted. Recommendations derived from the results emphasize educational policy measures, improvement of teacher training, and strengthening support services, which can contribute to more geographically equitable learning opportunities and enhance the quality of education.", "language": "en", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "T\u00e4ss\u00e4 pro gradu -tutkielmassa tutkitaan syrj\u00e4seutujen koulujen opettajien kokemuksia digitaalisen muutoksen vaikutuksista heid\u00e4n ty\u00f6h\u00f6ns\u00e4. Lis\u00e4ksi tutkielmassa pyrit\u00e4\u00e4n tunnistamaan syrj\u00e4seutukoulujen opettajien kohtaamat haasteet ja mahdollisuudet teknologian k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4, t\u00e4ydent\u00e4en n\u00e4in tutkimuskirjallisuudessa havaittua aukkoa. Tutkielmassa valittiin laadullinen tutkimusmenetelm\u00e4 opettajien vastausten syv\u00e4llisen ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4misen tueksi. Vastauksien analysoinnissa hy\u00f6dynnettiin teema-analyysia. Haastatteluaineiston analyysin tulokset korostavat kuinka opettajien tekninen tuki, vertaistuki ja oppilaiden avustus ovat ratkaisevina tekij\u00f6in\u00e4 teknologian integroinnissa. Teknologian havaittiin my\u00f6s lis\u00e4\u00e4v\u00e4n motivaatiota ja luovuutta opettajien ja oppilaiden keskuudessa, vaikka opettajien vastahakoisuus voi hidastaa sen k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6nottoa. Tulokset viittaavat vahvasti siihen, kuinka opettajien my\u00f6nteisell\u00e4 asennoitumisella ja tuella voidaan merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4sti edist\u00e4\u00e4 teknologian integroimista osaksi syrj\u00e4seutukoulujen opetusta.
