Tutkimukset osoittavat, etteiv\u00e4t startupit ratkaise asiakkaiden liiketoimintaongelmia eiv\u00e4tk\u00e4 kiinnit\u00e4 riitt\u00e4v\u00e4sti huomiota oppimiseen tuote- ja markkinayhteensopivuuden validointiprosessissa. Lis\u00e4ksi monet yritt\u00e4j\u00e4t kohtaavat merkitt\u00e4vi\u00e4 haasteita rakentaessaan startupista kasvuvalmista yrityst\u00e4. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkielmassa selvitettiin, miten alan parhaat k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n soveltuvat nykyp\u00e4iv\u00e4n\u00e4 asiakasarvotutkimukseen sek\u00e4 oppimis- ja validointiprosessiin. Lis\u00e4ksi tutkielmassa tarkasteltiin startupin kehittymist\u00e4, teknologian hyv\u00e4ksymist\u00e4 ja innovaatioita startupin erityispiirteiden vuoksi. Tutkielma toteutettiin toimeksiantona suomalaiselle startupille Aecmaster Oy:lle, jonka ohjelmiston tavoitteena on uudistaa rakennusalan suunnitteluprosessia. Tutkimuksen aikana yrityksen konsepti ja ohjelmisto pohjautuivat perustaj\u00e4senten toimialatuntemukseen sek\u00e4 tutkimusty\u00f6h\u00f6n markkinoilla, joiden pohjalta yritys oli laatinut asiakas- ja tuotehypoteeseja. Tutkimus toteutettiin tuotehypoteesien pohjalta sekamenetelm\u00e4tutkimuksena, jossa sovellettiin Steve Blankin asiakaskehitysmallia. Kvalitatiivisessa tutkimusosiossa k\u00e4ytt\u00e4jien tuotetarpeita tutkittiin teemahaastattelemalla 11 potentiaalista k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4\u00e4. Tulosten validoimiseksi toisessa osiossa l\u00e4hetettiin 242 potentiaaliselle k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4lle kvantitatiivinen kyselytutkimus, jossa k\u00e4ytettiin viisiportaista Likert-asteikkoa. Tutkimustuloksena esitettiin p\u00e4ivitetyt tuotehypoteesit, jotka viittaavat ratkaisevan k\u00e4ytt\u00e4jien kohtalaisia haasteita. Johtop\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6kset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 asiakaskehitysmalli soveltui viitekehyksen\u00e4 asiakasarvotutkimukseen, mutta sen k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4 ilmeni haasteita, joihin malli ei tarjonnut ratkaisua. Despite significant research efforts in the startup domain, the failure rate has remained unchanged. Research shows that start-ups do not solve customers\u2019 real business problems and focus enough on learning in the process of validating product-market fit. In addition, many entrepreneurs face significant challenges in building a start-up into a high-growth business. This thesis investigates how best practices in the field apply to customer value research and the learning and validation process today. In addition, this thesis will closely review the development of the startup, the acceptance of technology, and innovations due to the unique characteristics of the startup The thesis was commissioned to Aecmaster Oy, a Finnish start-up whose software aims to improve the construction design process. During the research, the company's concept and software were based on the founding members' industry knowledge and market research. On this basis, the company had developed customer and product hypotheses. The research was conducted as a mixed-method study based on product hypotheses, applying Steve Blank's customer development model. The qualitative research included thematic interviews with 11 potential users to investigate their product needs. The results were validated in the quantitative phase through a survey sent to 242 potential users using a five-point Likert scale. As a result, updated product hypotheses were presented that indicated to solve customers\u2019 moderate problems. The conclusions indicated that the customer development model was suitable as a framework for customer value research, but challenges arose in its application for which the model did not provide solutions. In the implementation of the study, it should be noted that users may not necessarily be aware of their challenges, and the sampling in survey research may be weak, which affects the reliability of the research. Additionally, the study identified that incorporating other perspectives could be beneficial in customer value research, such as the acceptance of technology. The study suggests the need to develop more flexible and comprehensive models that consider the execution of customer value research and the utilization of other perspectives.
