The material of this thesis consisted of video recordings of remotely\nimplemented group clinical supervision sessions which are part of a study which was carried out in\ncollaboration between the University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 and the University of Oulu PhInGain: Reducing\nstrain and increasing gain of remote work group meetings with physiological indicators. As a\nresearch method we used conversation analysis in the analysis of the videos. Our assumption was that\nthere could be found similar communicational phenomena between sessions in which the methods of\nclinical supervisor were evaluated as weak. We identified four different phenomena that emerged\nfrom the sessions where methods of the clinical supervisor were evaluated as weak: the clinical\nsupervisors position of not-knowing does not actualize, the clinical supervisor divides the turns of\nspeaking in a way that is inappropriate for the situation, the clinical supervisor pauses their questions\nunclearly, and the clinical supervisor takes position of the speaker by talking over the current speaker.\nIn addition, our results showed that disturbances related to remoteness emerged repeatedly in sessions\nwhich had been evaluated as weak in terms of the methods of the clinical supervisor. Clinical\nsupervisor\u2019s choices in their procedures, interaction and positioning can affect how the participants\nexperience the methods of the clinical supervisor. Clinical supervisors should consider when to give\ndirect advices to participants. Our results show that after direct advices participants can withdraw\nfrom the conversation or the conversation may drift in the wrong direction. By distributing speaking\nturns inappropriately, clinical supervisors may delay, or even completely block participants' aim to\ntake speakers' positions in the current conversation. Incoherently interluded questions may hinder the\nnatural flow of the conversation when speakers and listeners positions commingle. Clinical supervisor\nmay try to take speakers position by speaking over the currently speaking participant, which may be\nharmful in the perspective of the participants. Our results show that in these kinds of situations\nparticipants can show frustration or withdraw from the conversation. In addition, it is good to be\naware of the additional dimensions of remote sessions, like challenges created by the usage of\nmicrophone or other technical difficulties, while implementing remote group sessions as they can\ncause disturbances in concentration and withdrawal from a conversation. Videoiden analyysissa k\u00e4ytimme tutkimusmenetelm\u00e4n\u00e4 keskustelunanalyysia. Oletuksemme oli, ett\u00e4 ty\u00f6nohjaajan ty\u00f6tapojen osalta heikoksi arvioituihin istuntoihin liittyy yhdenmukaisia vuorovaikutuksellisia ilmi\u00f6it\u00e4. Tunnistimme ty\u00f6nohjaajan ty\u00f6tavoista nelj\u00e4 eri\nilmi\u00f6t\u00e4, jotka esiintyiv\u00e4t ty\u00f6nohjaajan ty\u00f6tapojen osalta heikoksi arvioiduissa istunnoissa:\nty\u00f6nohjaajan ei-tiet\u00e4misen positio ei toteudu, ty\u00f6nohjaaja jakaa puheenvuoron tilanteeseen n\u00e4hden sopimattomalla tavalla, ty\u00f6nohjaaja tauottaa kysymyksens\u00e4 ep\u00e4selv\u00e4sti tai ty\u00f6nohjaaja positioi itsens\u00e4 puhujan positioon puhumalla \u00e4\u00e4ness\u00e4 olevan puhujan p\u00e4\u00e4lle. Lis\u00e4ksi tutkimustuloksemme osoittivat, ett\u00e4 ty\u00f6nohjaajan ty\u00f6tapojen osalta heikoksi arvioiduissa istunnoissa et\u00e4v\u00e4litteisyyteen liittyv\u00e4t h\u00e4iri\u00f6t toistuivat. Ty\u00f6nohjaajan ty\u00f6tavat sek\u00e4 vuorovaikutukselliset ja itsens\u00e4 positioimiseen\nliittyv\u00e4t valinnat voivat vaikuttaa siihen, miten ohjattavat ty\u00f6nohjaajan ty\u00f6tavat kokevat. Ty\u00f6nohjaajien tulee harkita, milloin antavat suoria neuvoja, sill\u00e4 tuloksiemme mukaan neuvojen j\u00e4lkeen ohjattavat voivat vet\u00e4yty\u00e4 keskustelusta tai keskustelu voi ohjautua v\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4\u00e4n suuntaan.
