Tutkielman tarkoituksena oli antaa lukijalle lis\u00e4\u00e4 tietoa informaatioteknologiaan (IT) liittyvist\u00e4 mahdollisuuksista vastaamalla kysymykseen siit\u00e4, kuinka informaatioteknologiaa hy\u00f6dynnet\u00e4\u00e4n nano- (NT) ja bioteknologian (BT) sek\u00e4 kognitiotieteeseen (C) sis\u00e4ltyvien uusien teknologioiden eli muiden merkitt\u00e4vien teknologioiden k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4. Tutkielmassa m\u00e4\u00e4riteltiin tutkimuskysymyksen keskeiset k\u00e4sitteet ja k\u00e4siteltiin erikseen t\u00e4m\u00e4n kysymyksen yksitt\u00e4isiin osiin liittyvi\u00e4 hy\u00f6tyj\u00e4 ennen kuin vastattiin tutkimuskysymykseen. Tutkimuksessa tietoa haettiin Google Scholarista ja Jykdok-tietokannasta l\u00f6ytyneest\u00e4 l\u00e4hdekirjallisuudesta, joka k\u00e4sittelee aiempia aiheeseen liittyvi\u00e4 tutkimuksia eli tutkielma toteutettiin kirjallisuuskatsauksena. Tutkimuksessa k\u00e4ytettyyn kirjallisuuteen kuului kirjallisuuskatsauksia, tieteellisi\u00e4 artikkeleita ja kirjoja, joita luettiin ja analysoitiin, mink\u00e4 j\u00e4lkeen niist\u00e4 tehtiin synteesi\u00e4. Tutkimuksessa p\u00e4\u00e4dyttiin siihen tulokseen, ett\u00e4 informaatioteknologia on t\u00e4rke\u00e4 osa useita erilaisia teknologioiden yhdistelmi\u00e4, joista on erilaisia hy\u00f6tyj\u00e4 yksil\u00f6ille ja yhteis\u00f6ille. On olemassa innovaatioita, joilla on jotain tekemist\u00e4 useamman teknologian kanssa, ja informaatioteknologian ja muiden teknologioiden liittymiseen toisiinsa sis\u00e4ltyy paljon mahdollisuuksia ja innovaatioita. L\u00e4hteiden perusteella tuloksia voitiin luokitella esimerkiksi suoraan tuotteisiin ja ihmisiin kohdistuviin hy\u00f6tyihin. Teknologioiden avulla voidaan parantaa prosesseja, tuotteita ja ihmisi\u00e4 sek\u00e4 luoda uusia teknologioita ja j\u00e4rjestelmi\u00e4. The aim of the thesis was to provide the reader with more information about the opportunities related to information technology (IT). This was implemented by answering the question of how information technology is used in other major technologies including nanotechnology (NT), biotechnology (BT) and new technologies based on cognitive science (C). The thesis defined the key concepts of the research question and addressed separately the benefits associated with the individual components of this question before answering the research question. Information was sought from literature that was found from Google Scholar and Jykdok database. The literature addresses previous studies on the subject so the researching was about making a literature review. The literature used in the study included literature reviews, scientific articles and books, which were read, analyzed and then synthesized. The study concluded that information technology is one of a number of different combinations of technologies that have different benefits for individuals and communities. There are innovations that have something to do with more than one technology, and there are many opportunities and innovations in the interconnection of information technology and other technologies. Based on the sources, the results could be classified, for example, into direct benefits to products and benefits to people. Technologies can be used to improve processes, products and people and to create new technologies and systems.
