Kun yritys ottaa kantaa polarisoituvaan\nsosiaaliseen, poliittiseen tai ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6ongelmaan, sit\u00e4 kutsutaan yritysaktivismiksi.\nYritysaktivismin tutkimusala on uusi ja se kaipaa pitk\u00e4ll\u00e4 aikav\u00e4lill\u00e4 tehty\u00e4\nstrategisen yritysaktivismin tutkimusta. T\u00e4m\u00e4 tutkimus tarkastelee nelj\u00e4\u00e4\npohjoismaissa toimivaa yritysaktivistiyrityst\u00e4 eri toimialoilta: Finlayson, Oatly, Lush\nja Tony's Chocolonely. Tutkimuksessa kartoitetaan yritysten aktivismikannanottojen\nja yritysvastuuraporttien yhteytt\u00e4. Tutkimuksen tarkoitus on selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, liittyv\u00e4tk\u00f6\nyritysaktivismin teemat yritysten vastuullisuusraportteihin ja -arvoihin, sek\u00e4\nreagoivatko yritykset aktivismillaan ajankohtaisiin yhteiskunnallisiin aiheisiin vai\npyrkiv\u00e4tk\u00f6 yritykset aikaansaamaan muutosta muista l\u00e4ht\u00f6kohdista. Tulokset\nosoittavat, ett\u00e4 suurimmassa osassa aktivismikannanottoja, yritykset ottavat kantaa\nasioihin, jotka mainitaan yrityksen arvoissa tai vastuullisuusraporteissa.\nTutkimuksessa kuitenkin huomattiin, ett\u00e4 raporttiin saatetaan lis\u00e4t\u00e4 maininta\naiheesta vasta aktivismikannanoton j\u00e4lkeen, etenkin, kun kannanotto on reagointi\n\u00e4killiseen yhteiskuntapoliittiseen ongelmaan. Strateginen yritysaktivismi luo\nyhteiskunnallista muutosta sek\u00e4 reagoimalla ajankohtaisiin aiheisiin, ett\u00e4 tuoden\nuusia aiheita yhteiskunnalliseen keskustelun keski\u00f6\u00f6n.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "As society struggles against many wicked problems like climate change and\ninequality, companies are increasingly taking part in the sociopolitical discussions.\nWhen a company takes a stance on a polarising socio-political or environmental\nissue, it is called corporate activism. The research field of corporate activism is new\nand lacking on research in strategic corporate activism conducted over a long period\nof time. This research investigates four corporate activist companies from different\nindustries operating in the Nordics: Finlayson, Oatly, Lush and Tony\u2019s Chocolonely.\nThe research investigates the connection between companies' activism statements\nand corporate sustainability reports. The purpose of the research is to find out\nwhether the themes of corporate activism are related to the companies' sustainability\nvalues. The aim is to also investigate whether the companies react to current social\nissues with their activism or whether the companies initiate discussion with their\ncorporate activism. Research found that to the most part companies take a stance on\nissues that are stated in their corporate sustainability reports. However, some issues\nare added to the sustainability reports after the activism post, especially when the\nstatement is reacting to a sudden sociopolitical issue. It was also found that many\ncorporate sustainability values are yet to be utilised in corporate activism. The range\nof themes used in corporate activism was varied, social and environmental themes\nbeing the most used. In addition, the research showed that the companies both react\nto current societal issues in their corporate activism as well as initiate change on their\nown. This means that activist companies\u2019 corporate activism is both reactive and\ninitiative in nature. To conclude, strategic corporate activism takes corporate\nsustainability values as the basis for the corporate activism.
