Tutkielma selvittää kirjallisuuskatsauksen avulla, kuinka urheilijat pystyvät hyödyntämään puettavia teknologioita osana kuormituksen seurantaa. Kehittyneet sensorit kykenevät mittaamaan yhä useampaa kehon parametria, tarjoten myös urheilijoille täysin uusia tapoja seurata omaa toimintaansa. Kehittyäkseen urheilijoiden on harjoittelulla altistettava kehoa fyysiselle kuormitukselle. Liiallisella harjoittelulla on kuitenkin vaarana aiheuttaa vammoja ja haittoja terveydelle, jolloin oikean tasapainon löytäminen on tärkeää. Tunnistamalla miten kuormitus ilmenee ja mitä vaaroja siihen liittyy urheilijan näkökulmasta, voidaan tarkastella, miten harjoituskuormitusta pystytään tarkkailemaan puettavien teknologioiden avulla. Seu- rannassa auttavat useat sisäisen- ja ulkoisen kuormituksen mittarit, kuten GPS, sykevälivaihtelu sekä veren laktaattiarvot. Kuormitusta seuratessa puettavat teknologiat voivat aiheuttaa myös stressiä tai ahdistusta urheilijan pyrkiessä liialliseen täydellisyyteen. As wearable technologies develop and offer more varied ways to measure the human body, it is important to try to understand what new possibilities this opens up in different fields. This bachelor’s thesis is conducted as a literature review and looks to find different ways to utilize wearable techonologies as part of monitoring athlete’s load. Advanced sensors can measure more and more body parameters, also offering athletes completely new ways to monitor their own activities. In order to develop, athletes must expose their bodies to physical stress through training. However, excessive training risks causing injuries and harm to health, which means finding the right balance is necessary. By identifying what causes the training load and what dangers are associated with it from the athlete's point of view, it is possible to examine how the training load can be monitored with the help of wearable technologies. Several measures of internal and external load, such as GPS, heart rate variability and blood lactate values, help in monitoring. Wearable technologies can also cause stress or anxiety when the athlete strives for excessive perfection.
