Pelillist\u00e4misen hy\u00f6dyt koetaan tekev\u00e4n oppimisesta paljon mielekk\u00e4\u00e4mp\u00e4\u00e4 ja mielenkiintoisempaa (Hamari 2023). Pelillist\u00e4minen tuo mukanaan vuorovaikutuksen, j\u00e4nnityksen, osaamisen ja onnistumisen tunteita oppimiseen (Hamari 2023).. Kielenoppimisesta saadaan siis pelillist\u00e4mist\u00e4 hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 kiinnostavampaa, sill\u00e4 se motivoi ja lis\u00e4\u00e4 mielenkiintoa oppimiseen.\n\nT\u00e4ss\u00e4 materiaalipaketissa on hy\u00f6dynnetty pelillist\u00e4misen ideaa ja sen avulla pystytty luomaan interaktiivisesta tarinasta peli, jonka avulla voidaan opettaa englantia. Perusopetuksen opetussuunnitelman perusteita (OPH 2016) ja pelillist\u00e4 toisen kielen oppimista (gameful L2 learning) hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 teht\u00e4vien luomisessa on rakennettu materiaalipaketti, joka on tarkoitettu 8. Luokalle. Tekstikirjoihin luodut tarinat eiv\u00e4t ole interaktiivisia, ja t\u00e4h\u00e4n materiaalipakettiin luotu interaktiivinen tarina pyrkii t\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n sen aukon. Interaktiivinen tarina on kirjoitettu 8. luokkalaisille sopivalla tyylill\u00e4, jotta he pystyv\u00e4t seuraamaan tarinaa ja sen kulkua.\n\nTarina on kirjoitettu k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 Twine -ohjelmaa, jonka avulla kuka tahansa pystyy tekem\u00e4\u00e4n interaktiivisia tarinoita. Kirjoittamisessa on hy\u00f6dynnetty Hayes-Rothin (1998) seitsem\u00e4\u00e4 opastavaa perustetta, joiden tarkoitus on auttaa luomaan kertomus, joka aktivoi pelaajia/lukijoita. Tarina keskittyy p\u00e4\u00e4henkil\u00f6n ymp\u00e4rille luotuun interaktiivisuuteen, jonka avulla pelaaja/lukija voi tehd\u00e4 omia p\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksi\u00e4 tarinan eri kohdissa. \n\nTarinan rakentamisessa ja lukemisessa/pelaamisessa hy\u00f6dynnet\u00e4\u00e4n tietokoneavusteisen kielen oppimisen (computer-assisted language learning, CALL) ja mobiiliavusteisen kielen oppimisen (mobile-assisted language learning, MALL) perusperiaatteita. CALL esiintyy k\u00e4ytett\u00e4ess\u00e4 Twine -ohjelmaa tarinaa pelattaessa. MALL on vuorostaan vaihtoehtoinen ratkaisu tarinan lukemiseen/pelaamiseen. K\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 QR koodeja, lis\u00e4tty\u00e4 todellisuutta (AR) voidaan hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 interaktiivisen tarinan lukemiseen/pelaamiseen Twine-ohjelman vaihtoehtona. \u00c4lylaitteilla QR koodeja voidaan hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 tarinan pelaamiseen/lukemiseen ajasta ja paikasta riippumatta (Gromik 2017).
