Careful game design, thoroughly created game aesthetics combined with game difficulty tailoring provide means for optimal game experience in video games. This research not only overviews AI agent design process but also suggests game tension framework for its performance evaluation in video games. Moreover, a design case study was carried out to assess the framework in practice for validation of the agent, which was developed for procedural level generation in a rogue-like game.
