Digitaalinen kaksonen on ker\u00e4nnyt huomiota niin tutkimuksessa kuin k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n sovellutuksissa viime vuosina yh\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkielman tarkoituksena on esitell\u00e4 digitaalista kaksosta teknologiana sek\u00e4 erilaisia p\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksentekomalleja. N\u00e4iden pohjalta tutkielmassa pyrit\u00e4\u00e4n vastaamaan tutkimuskysymyksiin: Mit\u00e4 hy\u00f6tyj\u00e4 digitaalisen kaksosen k\u00e4yt\u00f6st\u00e4 voidaan todeta olevan operatiivisen ja strategisen p\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksenteon tukena? Tutkielma k\u00e4sittelee saavutettuja hy\u00f6tyj\u00e4 p\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksenteossa k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 digitaalista kaksosta sen apuna. Esille nousee my\u00f6s idea dataperustaisesta p\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksenteosta, jota digitaalinen kaksonen teknologiana soveltaa tuottamalla informaatiota p\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksenteon tueksi. Tarkastellun kirjallisuuden perusteella digitaalisen kaksosen k\u00e4yt\u00f6st\u00e4 strategisen sek\u00e4 operatiivisen p\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksenteon apuv\u00e4lineen\u00e4 l\u00f6ydettiin useita erilaisia hy\u00f6tyj\u00e4. Hy\u00f6tyj\u00e4 l\u00f6ydettiin erilaisten simulaatioiden tuomien ennusteiden kautta konkreettisissa tuotantoprosesseissa sek\u00e4 palveluprosesseissa. Simulaatioiden kautta saavutettiin my\u00f6s parempaa markkinaymm\u00e4rryst\u00e4 ja ennustettavuutta kuluttajak\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymiseen. Tuloksia l\u00f6ydettiin my\u00f6s digitaalisen kaksosen avusta hahmottaa abstrakteja tai laajoja kokonaisuuksia ja t\u00e4m\u00e4n perusteella tehtyjen informoitujen p\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6sten teosta. Tulevaisuudessa tutkimusta olisi hyv\u00e4 kohdistaa digitaalisen kaksosen laajempiin k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n sovellutuksiin organisaatioissa strategisen p\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksenteon tukena sek\u00e4 kilpailuedun saavuttamisessa.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "Digitalization and technological developments mean that new technologies are emerging more and more frequently over time. The digital twin has attracted increasing attention in both research and practical applications in recent years. The aim of this thesis is to present the digital twin as a technology and in addition different models of decision making. Based on this, the thesis aims to answer the research questions: what are the benefits of using the digital twin to support operational and strategic decision making? The thesis discusses the benefits of using the digital twin as a decision support tool. It also introduces the idea of data-driven decision making, which the digital twin as a technology applies by providing information to support decision making. Based on the literature reviewed, several different benefits of using the digital twin as a tool for strategic and operational decision making were identified. The benefits were found through the predictions brought by various simulations in concrete production processes and service processes. Simulations also provided better market insight and predictability of consumer behavior. Results were also found in the digital twin's ability to perceive abstract or large-scale entities and the informed decisions made on this basis.
