Voimaharjoittelun yleisen\u00e4 tavoitteena on voimantuoton ja lihasmassan \nkasvattaminen. Motorisen oppimisen rooli voimantuoton kehittymisess\u00e4 perinteisell\u00e4 \nvastusharjoittelulla on kuitenkin ep\u00e4selv\u00e4. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tavoitteena on selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 \nmotorisen oppimisen vaikutusta voimantuoton muutoksiin harjoitus- ja \nharjoittelemattomuusjaksojen aikana aiemmin harjoittelemattomilla henkil\u00f6ill\u00e4.\nTutkimus toteutettiin osana isompaa voimaharjoittelututkimusta, josta t\u00e4h\u00e4n tutkimukseen \nsis\u00e4llytettiin toinen harjoitusryhmist\u00e4. Tutkittavat eiv\u00e4t olleet osallistuneet s\u00e4\u00e4nn\u00f6lliseen \nvoimaharjoitteluun aiemmin (n = 20, 18\u201340 v.). Tutkimuksessa tutkittavat toteuttivat 10 viikon \nvoimaharjoittelujakson, 10 viikon harjoittelemattomuusjakson ja toisen 10 viikon \nvoimaharjoittelujakson. Harjoittelu tapahtui 2 kertaa viikossa, ja kaikki harjoitukset olivat \nvalvottuja. Harjoituksissa seurattiin kuormia ja toistoja kaikissa harjoitetuissa liikkeiss\u00e4.\nTutkittavilta mitattiin bilateraalinen 1 toiston maksimi (1 RM) jalkapr\u00e4ssi, maksimaalinen \nunilateraalinen isometrinen polvenojennus (IPO) ja vastus lateraliksen poikkipinta-ala (VLA)\nharjoitusjaksojen alussa, 5 viikon kohdalla ja harjoitusjaksojen lopuksi.\nJalkapr\u00e4ssin 1 RM (JP), IPO, VLA ja jalkapr\u00e4ssin harjoituskuorma (JPHA) kehittyiv\u00e4t \nmolempien harjoitusjaksojen aikana (p < 0.05). Ensimm\u00e4isen ja toisen harjoitusjakson aikana \nJPHA (+ 43 % ja + 30 %) kehittyi suhteessa enemm\u00e4n verrattuna JP (+ 22 % ja +15 %) (p < \n0.05) ja JP kehittyi enemm\u00e4n verrattuna IPO (+ 12 % ja + 9 %) (p < 0.05). Toisen \nharjoitusjakson aikana VLA:n muutokset (+ 15 %) olivat suurempia kuin IPO:n (p < 0.05).\nLis\u00e4ksi IPO palasi harjoitustauon aikana takaisin l\u00e4ht\u00f6tasolle, kun taas JPHA ja JP pysyiv\u00e4t \nkoholla verrattuna l\u00e4ht\u00f6tilanteeseen harjoitustauon aikana.\nTutkimuksessa havaitut erot harjoittelun toiminnallisissa ja rakenteellisissa adaptaatioissa sek\u00e4 \nniiden pysyvyydess\u00e4 tukevat motorisen oppimisen roolia voimaharjoittelussa. Erityisesti \nharjoitustauon aikaiset muutokset tukevat motorisen oppimisen roolia ja neuraalisten \nadaptaatioiden pysyvyytt\u00e4 verrattuna rakenteellisiin. Aiemmin harjoittelemattomien \nharjoittelussa motorinen oppiminen kannattaa ottaa huomioon tavoitteiden puitteissa, sill\u00e4 \ntoiminnallisilla muutoksilla ei ollut vaikutusta lihashypertrofiaan harjoitusjaksoilla.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "Strength training is a common form of exercise for the general public as well as for athletes. \nCommon goals for strength training are increase in muscular force production and muscle \nhypertrophy. The role of motor learning in increases of muscular strength due to training is still \nunclear. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of motor learning on the changes in\nmuscular force during strength training, detraining, and retraining on previously untrained \npeople.\nThe study was conducted as a part of a larger project, of which one of the experimental groups \nwere included in this study. Participants were previously untrained (n = 20, 18-40 y.). The study \nconsisted of a 10-week training period, 10 weeks of detraining, and 10 weeks of retraining. \nTraining was conducted 2 times a week and all training sessions were supervised. All sets and \nrepetitions were recorded. Measurements during the study were 1 repetition maximum 1RM \nbilateral dynamic leg press (JP), maximal unilateral isometric voluntary contraction of the knee \nextensors (IPO) and cross-sectional area of vastus lateralis (VLA). Measurements were done at \nthe beginning of training periods, at 5-week interval during training periods and at the end of \nthe training periods.\nLeg press 1RM, IPO, VLA and training load of the leg press (JPHA) all increased during both \ntraining periods (p < 0.05). During both training periods JPHA (+ 43 % and + 30 %) increased \nmore than JP (+ 22 % and +15 %) (p < 0.05) and JP improved more than IPO (+ 12 % and + 9 \n%) (p < 0.05). Proportional changes in VLA (+ 15 %) were greater than changes in IPO during \nretraining period (p < 0.05). Additionally, IPO regressed back to the pretraining levels during \ndetraining, whereas JP and JPHA remained elevated.\nThe differences in structural and functional adaptations and differences in their timescales \nprovide evidence for the role of motor learning in strength development. Especially changes \nduring detraining support motor learning and the relative stability of neural changes when \ncompared to structural changes in musculature.
