Projektinhallinnalla on havaittu olevan keskeinen rooli ERP-implementoinnin onnistumisen varmistamisessa ja tärkeimpien projektinhallinnan käytäntöjen ymmärtäminen onkin tärkeässä asemassa prosessin sujuvuuden kannalta. Tämän tutkielman tavoitteena oli tutkia projektinhallinnan roolia ERP-implementoinnin onnistumisessa ja kriittisimpiä menestykseen vaikuttavia projektinhallintakäytäntöjä. Tutkielman tutkimuskysymyksinä toimivat: ”Mikä on projektinhallinnan rooli ERP-implementoinnissa?” ja ”Mitkä ovat tärkeimmät projektinhallinnan käytännöt, jotka vaikuttavat ERP-implementointiin?”. Tutkielma pyrkii myös tarjoamaan ohjeita ja havaintoja tulevia ERP-implementointiprojekteja varten projektinhallinnan näkökulmasta. Tutkimusmenetelmänä toimi systemaattinen kirjallisuuskatsaus, jossa tarkasteltiin pääosin vertaisarvioituja tutkimusartikkeleita ja konferenssijulkaisuja. Tutkielmassa strategia, projektijoh-taminen, kommunikointi, muutoksenhallinta ja sidosryhmien hallinta osoittautuivat tärkeimmiksi tekijöiksi, joihin projektinhallinnalla oli vaikutus. Vaikka edellä mainitut tekijät ovat itsenäisiä tekijöitä niin havaittiin silti, että projektinhallinta on yhteyksissä jokaiseen näihin tekijään ja vaikuttaa niihin. Tulosten perusteella projektinhallintaa voidaan pitää edellä mainittujen yksittäisten tekijöiden ylempänä suunnannäyttäjänä, joka ohjaa yksittäisten tekijöiden onnistumista. Tehokas projektinhallinta voi siis tukea ERP-implementaatiota organisaatiossa. The implementation of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is a complex process that requires resources and has a significant impact on the organization's operations. Although ERP implementation has become more common in recent years, the number of failed projects remains high. Project management has been found to play a key role in ensuring the success of an ERP implementation and understanding the most important project management practices is essential. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of project management in the success of ERP implementation and the most critical project management practices affecting success. The research questions of the study were: "What is the role of project management in ERP implementation?" and "What are the most important project management practices that affect ERP implementation?". Additionally, the thesis aims to provide instructions and observations for future ERP implementation projects from the perspective of project management. The research method was a systematic literature review, which mainly examined peer-reviewed research articles and conference publications. The results showed that project management has an impact and a key role in ensuring the success of ERP implementation. Strategy, project governance, communication, change management and stakeholder management turned out to be the most important factors that project management had an impact on. Although the factors mentioned above are independent factors, it was still found that project management is connected to each of these factors and influences them. On the basis of the results, project management can be considered as a higher direction indicator of the individual factors mentioned above, which guides the success of the individual factors. Effective project management can therefore support ERP implementation in the organization.
